4-H WHERE YOU CAN MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE
The theme of the banquet was “4-H Where you can make your
dreams come true” and the senior 4-H’ers performed a skit pre
senting the theme with a bit of help from their leaders at the recent
Barrow County 4-H 2013 Awards Banquet.

JUNIOR 4-H’ER OF THE YEAR
Junior 4-H’er Donny Kulp is certainly working
towards making his dreams come true, as
evidenced by the many awards he received
at the recent Barrow County 4-H 2013 Awards
Banquet, including junior 4-H’er of the year.
SENIOR 4-H’ER OF THE YEAR
After accepting awards in several catego
ries, senior 4-H’er Courtney Grovogel was
awarded the senior 4-H’er of the year award
at the recent Barrow County 4-H 2013 Awards
Banquet.

In the spirit of the Disney themed banquet, senior 4-H’er Darby Tippit shares peace, love, and
goofiness as she accepts her District Project Achievement certificate at the recent Barrow
County 4-H 2013 Awards Banquet.

The Barrow County 4-H Club
recently hosted its 2013 Awards
Banquet at the Barrow County
Leisure Service Building. The
theme of the evening was “Where
you can make your dreams come
true” and was filled with Disney-
esque references.
The skit performed by the
senior 4-H’ers and leaders about
all of the things 4-H offers fea
tured the Disney princesses and
the 4-H fairies and reminded the
audience that “Dreams do come
true, if we have the strength to
pursue them.” - Walt Disney.
4-H Club president Courtney
Bolden presided over the eve
ning ceremonies while vice-
president Darby Tippit issued a
warm welcome to all in atten
dance. After the American
Pledge led by Brandon Thomas,
C.J. McLocklin gave the invoca
tion, followed by a meal catered
by the Master’s Table.
The introduction of staff was
offered by board member Alex
Foster, followed by the introduc
tion of officers by Zea Patterson
and introduction of guests by
Paige Buhite. The theme intro
duction given by board member
Kasey Kulp preceded the skit
given by the Senior 4-H mem
bers and leaders.
A media presentation given
by Courtney Grovogel followed,
and awards were given in a vari
ety of categories such as cotton
boll, poultry judging, challenge
bowl, forestry judging, wildlife
judging, livestock show teams,
Health Rocks ambassadors,
Barrow County 4-H ambassa
dors, leadership, citizenship and
community service, robotics,
cloverleaf project achievement.

Also honored were volunteers,
donors and other supporters, and
awards were given for cloverleaf
of the year Alyssa Futter, junior
4-H’er of the year Donny Kulp
and senior 4-H’er of the year
Courtney Grovogel.
With a closing by board
member Hannah Murschel and
the 4-H Pledge led by secre
tary Emily Waller, the Barrow
County 4-H Club ended their
ceremonies with another quote
by Walt Disney - “Around here,
we don’t look backwards for
very long... We keep moving
forward, opening up new doors
and doing new things because
we’re curious... and curios
ity keeps leading us down new
paths.”
