The winning raffle ticket was drawn at the Friends of the Library’s annual membership drive Sunday, Oct. 14. The raffle tickets were sold at several local events, including the Braselton Antique Festival, the Hoschton Fall Festival and The Friends of the Library’s annual membership drive. All proceeds from the sale of the raffle tickets will go to support the Braselton-West Jackson Library. The Winder-Barrow Community Theatre will pres ent Agatha Christie’s murder mystery, “And Then There Were None,” with opening night on Friday, Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m. Additional shows that weekend will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m. Three additional shows will be held the next week end on Nov. 2-4. A dinner is also being offered on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 6 p.m. Meals must be purchased in advance, and the Magnolia Place Restaurant will be catering the dinner. “And Then There Were None” will be presented at the Colleen O. Williams Theater, located in the Winder Cultural Arts Center, at 105 E. Athens Street, Winder. Tickets may be purchased in person at Pam Veader’s State Farm Insurance Office, located at 41 S. Center Street, Winder or by calling 770-867-1679, or at the Winder City Hall. For credit card purchases, guests are asked to con tact the City of Winder at 770-867-3106. Orders will be processed and the tickets will be available at the door on the day of the show. Tickets purchased in advance are $12 for adults, and $10 for students, teachers and seniors (65 or older). A portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the Winder branch of the Piedmont Regional Fibrary. Due to budget cuts from the government entities that fund the library, the donation will be used to pur chase needed books and materials Additional dona tions can also be made for the library. Season ticket brochures can be picked up at the the ater, at Pam Veader’s office or at Winder City Hall. Special event planned at Alpaca farm in Hoschton Gilliland Heritage Alpacas, Hoschton, hold its farm fest day for the public on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Activities will be held through out the day and will include: edu cational tours, spinning demonstra tions, hat felting demonstrations, an explanation of how shearing alpacas can become clothing and feeding alpacas. Children’s activi ties will include a giant slide and face painting. Flama tricks will also be featured. Girl Scout Troop 1816, Winder, will be selling baked goods. FFA students from Apalachee High School will be volunteering at the event. Snacks and drinks will be available. The alpaca store will also be open for guests. Admission is $5 for adults, and $3 for children 12 and under. Guests may also have their photo taken with an alpaca for a small fee. Friends to hold anniversary library sale Nov. 1-3 The Friends of the Braselton-West Jackson Fibrary will hold its library store one-year anniversary sale on Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 1-3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Books will be 50 percent off. Some gift items will be reduced up to 50 percent. The store is located in the Braselton-West Jackson Fibrary, 124 West Broadway (Hwy. 124) in Braselton. Pet adoption set for Saturday The Humane Society of Hall County will hold a companion pet mini adoption on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held at Key Auto Sales Mall of Georgia, located at 3547 Buford Drive, Buford. Guests are asked to help home less animals find a new home. The event will also feature free color ing books, and a chance for chil dren to meet “Snip,” the new spay and neuter mascot. Refreshments will be available. For directions, call Key Auto Sales, at 678-541-0655. ‘Santa Claws’ photos available The Humane Society of Hall County will offer pet pictures with “Santa Claws” on Friday, Nov. 9, from 1-5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 11, from 1-5 p.m. There is a $25 fee, which includes six different poses with no additional charge for a sitting fee. Disks of the photos will be available for a minimal charge. Professional photography will be provided by Celestial Studios. “This is a great chance to have your family’s pictures taken with Santa, including all of your pets,” organizers stated.
