DONATION TO FOOD PANTRY

The Winder Dixie Cruisers recently donated $1,000 to the Piedmont Rape Crisis Center. Susan Cash
of Piedmont Rape Crisis Center accepted the check from Rich Boyd, president of the Winder Dixie
Cruisers.
Winder Dixie Cruisers complete season
The Winder Dixie Cruisers
have finished another success
ful cruise in season. The Dixie
Cruisers arc a non-profit organi
zation that donates all their pro
ceeds to charitible organizations
at the end of each season.
Classic and antique car enthu
siast arc participants of monthly
cruise ins and an annual car show
in the fall which is held at Holly
Hill Mall in Winder. Cruise ins
arc held during the spring and
summer months to take advantage
of the daylight and arc free to the
public. The proceeds from these
events enable the Dixie Cruisers
to give back to the community.
This year, the group presented
$1,500 to the Winder Lions Club,
$1,000 to Piedmont Rape Crisis
Center, and $1,000 to Barrow
Benevloence Ministries’ Food
Pantry. Also, a donation was
given to the Shriners.
Bill Cook, president of the
Winder Lions Club accepted the
check. The Lions Club assists
needy children and adults in
obtaining eye glasses and hear
ing aids.
Susan Cash accepted the check
on behalf of the Piedmont Rape
Crisis Center. Piedmont rape
crisis center’s mission is to end
sexual assault survivors through
advocacy, support and resources,
community awareness and edu
cation in Barrow, Banks, and
Jackson Counties.
Al Brown, coordinator of the
Barrow County Food Pantry,
accepted its check. Their mis
sion is to assist in food donations
to qualified individuals in the
Barrow County area.
The Shriners arc a non-profit
organization for the free health
care for children.

Group opens cafe, store in library

The Friends of the Braselton-
West Jackson Library has a cafe
and store operated by volunteers in
the new Braselton Library.
The store sells used books,
games, puzzles and other gift items,
along with drinks and snacks.
The store and cafe is open
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 4
p.m.; and Saturdays, from 10
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It is closed on
Wednesdays.
The Braselton Library is located
at 132 W. Broadway (Ga. Hwy.
124).
