BPD arrests
Pregnant woman says man assaulted her over laundry
A woman who is 30 weeks pregnant said
a man assaulted her during an argument
over laundry.
Jereno Kinslow, 35, 6565 White Walnut
Way, Braselton, was charged with bat-
tery-Domestic Violence Act.
Kinslow reportedly became upset when
the complainant told him not to put a blue
towel in with the other white towels. He
allegedly shoved the towel down the wom
an’s throat and choked her several times.
Kinslow also allegedly held her up against
the wall several times. He told her to give
him her plate that she was making in the
kitchen. She said she feared he would pour
hot grits on her if she did.
She did have visible injuries, according to
the incident report.
The woman said she didn’t call 9-1-1
immediately because she thought Kinslow
would stop her.
She waited until Kinslow left before she
went to her parents and got another cell
phone to call the police.
She said Kinslow has surveillance video
cameras on the house and monitors her cell
phone calls. She feared he would return
to the house before officers could make it
there.
Braselton Police officers took the woman
to the residence to retrieve her belongings.
They found Kinslow there, although he
didn’t answer the door when they knocked.
He denied the argument ever became
physical and officers arrested him.
ANOTHER MAN ARRESTED
FOR BATTERY
BPD officers also arrested another man
in a separate domestic incident after he
assaulted a woman. Fidel Hernandez Torah
29,2080 Summer Glenn Trail. Braselton —
faces charges of battery-DVA and criminal
trespass.
Someone reported that Toral hit a woman.
When officers arrived, the house was in
disarray. Glass was shattered and food was
thrown around. Toral also allegedly broke
a door.
When officers spoke with the victim, she
didn’t want an incident report filed and said
she was going through a custody battle and
“didn’t need this report.” She wouldn’t give
officers any information about why her eye
was swelling and said, “it is what it is.” She
said she’d been hit by her former spouse
too.
Officers spoke with Toral, who said he
didn’t understand why officers were there.
He was arrested after he said he hit the
woman.
OTHER ARRESTS
Other arrests made by the BPD were:
•Antonio F. Daniel. 21. 4021 Lakemont
Drive 7T. Atlanta — wanted person. Daniel
was the passenger in a vehicle pulled over
for speeding. He had an outstanding war
rant. Officers also smelled marijuana in the
vehicle, which two other passengers were
cited for.
•Norman Richard Worthington, 36, 3211
Campus Pointe Circle, Gainesville — fail
ure to maintain lane and driving under the
influence (DUI)-refusal. Worthington was
apparently pulled over for failing to main
tain lane. He appeared to be intoxicated
and questioned why he was pulled over.
Officers said he was respectful, but said he
asked them several times not to shoot him.
He was arrested after a field sobriety test.
•Ryan Matthew Oberhaus. 29, 2485
Hamilton Park Lane, Buford — possession
of methamphetamine. Oberhaus was the
passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for
a welfare check. He and another man appar
ently slept in the vehicle in a convenience
store parking lot for two hours. When
officers woke them, the driver appeared dis
oriented and said they were coming from
Habersham and also going to Habersh
am. Officers asked to search them for
weapons and when Oberhaus got out,
they saw a loaded syringe. They also
found a baggie of methamphetamine in
his pocket. He was arrested and the driv
er was cited for driving while license is
suspended and no insurance. He said the
two had planned to sleep there overnight
since they saw so many BPD officers
patrolling in the area.
•Darveon Rimeco Hyde. 22, 4110 Hin
sdale Road, Cleveland. Ohio — speed
ing, driving while unlicensed or with an
expired license and disorderly conduct.
Hyde was stopped for speeding and he
gave officers a fake name. Officers called
his mother and she reportedly appeared
to be thinking about the questions they
asked her like she did not know the
answers. They also saw a text message
to the woman on the man’s phone read
ing, “When I call, my name is Zachary
Nelson.” Hyde eventually gave them his
real name and officers learned he had a
warrant out of Fulton County.
BPD incidents
Woman reports sexual battery at friend’s wedding
A woman recently reported sexual battery in Braselton
after she woke up naked and alone in an unfamiliar hotel
room after a friend’s wedding.
Braselton Police Department officers were called for
reports of sexual battery which occurred on Rue Charlem
agne Drive.
They met with a woman at Northeast Georgia Medical
Center Gainesville, She claimed a man assaulted her at a
friend’s wedding.
While the woman and her date were attending the wed
ding reception, the suspect reportedly danced with the
complainant and had some of her drink. He later went and
got them two more drinks before asking the woman to come
with him to see something.
He allegedly led her to an elevator, pushed her against the
wall and began making out with her.
The complainant doesn’t remember much else about the
night.
She woke up the next day in an unfamiliar room. She was
naked and her belongings were missing.
When she called the front desk to ask them to connect her
to her original hotel room, employees were curious how she
got inside the room she was calling from since it wasn’t in
service. She said she wasn’t sure.
Employees took her back to her room and she retrieved her
phone from her wedding date.
She had an Instagram message from the suspect telling her
to text him. He said he would bring her belongings to her in
the front lobby. She told him to leave her stuff at the front
desk and pay for her room.
Afraid of seeing the man again, the woman snuck out and
called her mom. The mother told her not to shower and the
two went to the hospital.
A BPD investigator was assigned to the case.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the BPD were:
•possession of marijuana less than an ounce on Hwy.
124 where officers pulled over a vehicle for speeding and
smelled marijuana inside. They didn’t find the substance
during a search of the car, but the driver had marijuana-in
fused gummy bears. He was cited.
•forgery of a financial transaction fraud on Spout Springs
Road where a woman fraudulently purchased $500 worth
of gift cards.
•felony theft by taking on Bald Cypress Drive where
someone took an electric blower.
•driving while unlicensed or with an expired license and
possession of marijuana less than an ounce on Hwy. 211
where officers pulled over a vehicle for speeding. When
asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, the driver
told them he had marijuana and handed him the substance.
He was cited.
•criminal trespass on Mountain Oak Drive where a man
broke a window with a rock. He and his parents had previ
ously argued and he agreed to stay at a hotel. They found
him walking home the next day and he refused to get in the
car with them. He later got agitated when they asked to talk.
He reportedly broke a window with a rock before fleeing.
His parents said he had been acting strange and they feared
him. They said he bought a shotgun and they’ve begun
locking their bedroom door and sleeping with a baseball bat.
The son agreed to fix the window and stop being so violent.
When officers asked him to go to the hospital, the man was
agitated, but eventually became quiet and stared off. He was
taken to the hospital.
JCSO incidents - Hoschton and Braselton
Shoplifter stashes items in clothes at Hoschton supermarket
A suspected shoplifter hid merchandise in
her clothes at a Hoschton supermarket.
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies
were called to Hwy. 124 West on reports of
theft by shoplifting and criminal trespass.
A supermarket employee said a customer
was shoplifting and hiding goods in her
clothing.
She reportedly paid for some items, but
put an $8 bottle of shampoo in her purse.
Employees didn’t want to press charges,
but the woman was banned from the store
for two years.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other incidents reported to the JCSO in
Hoschton were:
•miscellaneous report on Liberty Bell
Run where a man reported juveniles were
driving a golf cart and playing on skate
boards in a neighborhood. A juvenile was
apparently riding on the skateboard which
the other kids were pulling with the golf
cart. The deputy spoke with the juveniles,
who said they would put the golf cart up
and be more careful. Officers gave each of
them a JCSO wrist bracelet to wear.
•miscellaneous report on Freedom Park
way where two juveniles got locked out of
their house while their parents were away.
The deputy helped them get back in without
doing any damage.
•suicide attempt on Stoneview Drive
where a woman found her mother unre
sponsive and a suicide note. She sat up
when officers arrived and had slurred
speech. She was transported to the hospital.
•dispute on Meadow Vista Lane where
an estranged couple argued over some per
sonal items. The man said his ex-girlfriend
swung a bag at him, which touched his face.
She also reportedly swung her arms, but
never struck him. He didn’t have any inju
ries and didn’t want to press charges, but
he said he wanted the woman to be warned
of criminal trespass. The woman said the
dispute was only verbal.

a woman reported a vacant residence was
burglarized and an air conditioning unit
was stolen.
•suspicious activity on Deer Creek Trail
where a woman reported a truck was at her
neighbors’ house while they were out of
town. The driver was dog-sitting for them.
