Hall County Fire Services 'pushes'
four new ambulances into service
Four new Hall Coun
ty ambulances went into
service Friday following
special ceremonies at the
four separate fire sta
tions where they will be
housed.
"We are looking for
ward to putting these new,
fuel-efficient, technologi
cally advanced medical
units into service so they
can serve the citizens of
this community," said
Hall County Fire Chief
Jeff Hood.
The four new ambulanc
es join four others that
went into service late last
year, and like those pur
chased previously, were
all paid for with Special
Purpose Local Option
Sales Tax VII (SPLOST
VII) funds. Four addi
tional units are scheduled
to be purchased in early
2018, also using SPLOST
funds, and will complete
the replacement of the
fire department's former
ly aging fleet.
"In addition to pro
viding a higher level of
service to our citizens,
these new ambulances are
also safer for our men
and women in the field,
providing better visibil
ity when responding to
accident scenes and other
incidents that require
them to be in the path
of oncoming traffic," said
Hood.
Various Hall County
Fire Services personnel
began placing the new
units into service at 8
a.m. Friday, July 20, by
pushing the first of the
four ambulances into
its bay at Hall County
Fire Station #10, located
at 5608 Highway 52 in
Gillsville.
"The 'push-in' ceremony
is a nod to the history of
fire services," Hood said.
"When fire apparatus was
pulled by a horse, the
firefighters had to unhook
the apparatus and push it
back into its bay. What
we're doing with these
ambulances pays tribute
to that era."
Following the brief cer
emony at Station #10, fire
personnel will hold simi
lar ceremonies at Station
#7. located at 731 East
Crescent Drive in Gaines
ville, Station #11, located
at 5625 Bark Camp Road
in Murrayville and Sta
tion #13. located at 2709
Sardis Road in Gaines
ville.
"I'd like to thank the
Hall County Board of
Commissioners for their
support and leadership
as we worked to fulfill
these SPLOST-funded
initiatives as they were
approved by the voters
in March 2015." Hood
said. "We look forward
to continuing to serve the
citizens of Hall County
with this upgraded fleet."

Jackson County's Cor

team recently acquired a
1994 International walk-

18,000 miles on it.
It will carry nine inmate
firefighters. The inmate
fire team responds to
every structural fire in
Jackson County where
they serve as manpow

department on scene.
Inmate firefighters are
counted as members of
the department, which
lowers ISO scores and
helps reduce insurance
costs.
The JCCI currently has
eight certified firefighters,

burn. Shadburn has served
in his position since 2003.

Here’s How It Works:
Sudoku puzzles are formatted as a 9x9 grid, broken
down into nine 3x3 boxes. To solve a sudoku, the
numbers 1 through 9 must fill each row, column
and box. Each number can appear only once in
each row, column and box. You can figure out the
order in which the numbers will appear by using
the numeric clues already provided in the boxes.
The more numbers you name, the easier it gets to
solve the puzzle!
