Hoschton UMC announces events
Hoschton United Methodist Church has announced its
upcoming events. In addition to its regular services and
Bible studies, the church plans:
•Bingo on Friday, Aug. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This is a covered dish luncheon.
•homecoming will be Oct. 15 with the Rev. Darryl
McGinnis as the guest speaker.
Church dedication,
new name celebrated
Hoschton Baptist Church, formerly the Church of
Hoschton, is celebrating its name change and a new church
dedication.
The dedication for the new church (at 380 Sam Freeman
Road in Hoschton) will be Sunday, Aug. 27.
On Sept. 10, the church will kick-off its new youth and
children’s classes on Sunday nights.

Arbor Pointe announces schedule
Arbor Pointe Church plans several events. They include:
•WOW on Wednesdays begins on Aug. 9 from 6-7- p.m.
It’s for all age groups. There will be fellowship, acoustic
worship, a brief message and a study. The first study is
SHAPE: Finding and Fulfdling Your Unique Purpose in
Life.
•the church is also currently taking applications for the
“Grow to be You” preschool. Information is available on the
church website and Facebook page. Twelve spots are open
for the preschool, which began Aug. 7.
Arbor Pointe is located at 115 Towne Center Parkway,
Hoschton.

Stepping Stones
planned in August
A weekly community event. Stepping Stones, will be held
at Mocha Moe’s Coffee House in Flowery Branch during
the month of August.
The program will be held on Fridays, Aug. 11,18 and 25,
from 2-3 p.m. The Aug. 25 event will feature a movie and
will be at a different location.
Attendees will discuss the topic: Is Heaven Real.
Stepping Stones is an outreach program of New Liberty
United Methodist Church. Services are held at New Liberty
UMC at 11 a.m.
Mocha Moe’s is located at 7380 Spout Springs Road,
Flowery Branch.
Maxey Hill to host
choir anniversary
Maxey Hill Baptist Church will hold its annual choir
anniversary at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19.
The Rev. Mitchell Appleby is the pastor.
The church is at 333 Jackson Trail Road, Jefferson.
Revival plans homecoming
Revival Baptist Church will host homecoming on Sunday
at 10:30 a.m.
Pastor Randy Sutherland will be the special guest.
Lunch will follow in the fellowship hall.
Matt Day is the church pastor.
The church is at 2269 Hwy. 332, Hoschton.

Morgan to speak at
First Baptist of Jefferson
Joe Morgan will be speaking on Wednesday night,
August 16, and Wednesday, August 23, regarding the
Contemporary Service at the First Baptist Church of
Jefferson.
“The Contemporary Service is called “Reach” and it
is growing at a rate that we can’t keep up with, which
of course is a great thing,” Morgan said.
These Wednesday night programs (from 6:30 to 7:30
each night) will give a background on the beginning of
the Reach Service and how the church is reaching out,
into the community with a different musical approach.
Morgan said, “I formed a Music Publishing Compa
ny, called Heaven’s Reach Publishing, which consists
of five members and we write original. Contemporary
Praise Worship songs. They are copyrighted and have
already been picked up by some in the music industry
(we have begun to receive royalty checks for some of
our work).”
Morgan said the group will introduce 10 of their new
songs (five each Wednesday night) to those in atten
dance and tell the “Back Story” on each song. . . some
of which were (unknowingly) inspired by the hardships
from some of our church members. . . .the names of
those will be revealed on the first Wednesday night.
“The point is that the Contemporary Service is grow
ing and we as a church are doing our part, and God is
blessing our efforts,” Morgan said. “The program is
open to all who wish to attend.”
Morgan has been in the production industry for 48
years. He was among the first to produce music videos,
clients include but are not limited to Maureen McGov
ern, Jim Stafford, Kris Kristofferson, Tanya Tucker.
Mel Tillis, Dolby Grey. Bobbie Gentry, the group
Atlanta, Joe South, Bertie Higgins and many others.
Morgan produced 13 weeks of the Mike Douglas
Show, on the Mississippi Queen, was a segment pro
ducer for “That’s Incredible”, live coordinator for ABC
international program distribution of Indy 500 (for five
years), live coordinator for ABC international program
distribution 1984 Olympics as well as producing thou
sands of commercials for local regional and national
clients.
Additionally, Morgan has produced video or audio
productions for NASA, IBM, Delta Airlines, Disney,
General Motors, Ford, Sears. AT&T, BellSouth, US
Government, GTE/Verizon. NBC, CBS, ABC. Show
time, HBO and ESPN in this country and has worked
for clients in Korea, India. Canada, England, Swit
zerland, Poland, Lichtenstein, Dominican Republic,
Puerto Rico, Italy, Brazil, France, China, Germany and
Japan.
Morgan has 13 patents issued or pending spanning
the telecommunications industry, banking industry,
automobile industry and the music industry.
Galilee to host
women ’s worship event
Galilee Christian Church will host “Beautifully
Rooted,” a worship event for women with Melanie
Pearson in concert.
The event will be held on Thursday, Aug. 17 in the
worship center at 7 p.m.
“The Women’s Ministry invites all ladies to join us
for a wonderful night of worship. Come see all that
the women’s ministry has planned for the coming
year and enjoy a fun night of worship together,” states
Sarah Trippe, GCC women’s ministry special events
coordinator.
Light refreshments will be served.
This is a free event.
The church will be collecting new undergarments
(size small) for the ladies living in Peace Place Hous
ing.
