Donna Cannella
awarded the second
Synergy Award
Braselton Mayor Bill Orr and the Town of Braselton
presented the Synergy Award to Donna Cannella
during a reception at Braselton City Hall.
Synergy means “work together’ in Greek. As such,
the award is given to people in Braselton whose
impact on the town mirrors the labor of Braselton’s
founding brothers.
Cannella has been the owner of Countryside
Antiques since 2008. But her biggest contribution to
the town was creating the Braselton Antique and Arti
san Festival in 2009.
Since then, the festival has grown to become a
tri-annual event, with over 250 exhibitors and over
25,000 guests from 10 states.
The Synergy Award isn’t given out on a set schedule
and Cannella admitted she was unaware of the award
before she was told she’d be receiving it.
The last time the award was given was in 2010 when
it was awarded to Don and Nancy Panoz.
Hall County’s Animal Shelter's mobile adoption trailer
will travel to sites in Hall County and beyond, bringing
adoptable pets in every shape, size and color.
"We hope this trailer will make the adoption process
easier for potential pet owners by bringing the animals to
community events and other public places," said Cindy
Langman, program coordinator for the Hall County Ani
mal Shelter. "This will also give the pets an opportunity
to interact with the public and receive some much needed
love and attention."
The 20-foot trailer, which was donated by animal shel
ter supporter Gail Ciccione, can hold approximately 12
animals at a time and is climate controlled for the safety
and comfort of the animals it holds, according to a county
news release.
Langman said the trailer was "wrapped" using the logo
and photos of animals that were adopted from the Shelter
and taken by volunteer photographer Billy Grimes. Fund
ing for the project came from proceeds raised during the
Harvest Balloon Festival, Sterling on the Lake's annual
fundraiser which benefits the animal shelter.

tion near you, follow the Animal Shelter's Facebook page,
