Ledbetter resigns
from Hoschton
City Council
First-term Hoschton
City Councilman Adam
Ledbetter has resigned
from his post, effective
Feb. 2.
Ledbetter, elected in
2019, said he’s stepping
down to devote more
time to his son’s medical
care.
“It’s time for me to fo
cus more on my family
and my son’s upcoming
kidney transplant,” Led
better wrote in an email
to The Braselton News.
“The past three years, I
could not be more proud
of our city’s progress.
Our city is in great hands
with (City Manager)
Jennifer Kidd-Harrison

at the wheel. May God
bless our city now and in
the future.”

Lawsuits accuse Eagle
Ranch of negligence in
alleged sexual abuse cases
of minors by other minors
Eagle Ranch — a
South Hall non-profit
home for children and
families in crisis — is
facing claims of negli
gence in its prevention
and response to alleged
sexual abuse of minors
by other minors on its
property.
Hall County court re
cords show a June law
suit filed against Eagle
Ranch related to a mi
nor child. Records show
two more lawsuits filed
against the organization
in July, one referencing
a Jane Doe and another
for a John Doe.
Court documents
show the first lawsuit
was filed by two former
Eagle Ranch house-
parents who said their
5-year-old child was
sexually abused by a
9-year-old child of two
other houseparents. Re
cords show the other
two lawsuits were filed
by parents of children
living at Eagle Ranch,
each alleging their child
was sexually abused by
another child resident.
According to court
documents, allegations
in the lawsuits include
a lack of safeguards and
monitoring to prevent
the abuse of children
residents. Other claims
include failure on Eagle
Ranch’s part to report
two of the incidents to

park plans
withdrawn

Applicants have withdrawn a re
zoning request to allow for a travel
trailer park just south of Oakwood
in South Hall.
The Hall County Board of Com
missioners was notified of the
withdraw at its Monday (Feb. 6)
work session.
The site was proposed for 6.72
acres at 3814 Bolding Rd. Appli
cants Yeon H. Jung and Soyeon
Kim sought to rezone the property
