ership Conference.
Jackson Co. HS Key Club takes home eight awards
The Jackson County Key
Club came away from the
2023 Georgia Key Club
Service and Leadership
Conference with eight
awards recognizing the
service projects completed
by the 111 members of the
club led by advisors Amy
Powers and Shelby Rich
ardson.
The honors included:
•Endorsed Project Award
for raising $109 for March
of Dimes through the Mas
ter Key Competition.
•third place in the Service
Initiative Award for raising
$132 for Unicef’s Start
Strong Zambia Program
through the Master Key

Chamber’s Women in
Business offers
$1,000 scholarship
Jackson County Area Chamber
of Commerce’s Women in Business
Committee has announced its fourth
annual $1,000 scholarship opportu
nity. The scholarship is available to
a young woman poised to be a fu
ture business and community leader.
Seniors graduating from a Jackson
County high school who plan to at
tend an accredited college, university
or trade school may apply.
The scholarship is limited to a one
time award of $1,000. The college or
university may be located anywhere
in the United States and must be fully
accredited.
Applications are due by March 31.
Final interviews will take place April
17-21 at a location to be determined.
The scholarship will be awarded in
early May.
Return completed applications
to the Jackson County Chamber of
Commerce via an email PDF or hard
copy by March 25. Email the PDF

Hames competes
in student pitch
competition
Zachary Hames. of Hoschton, re
cently competed in the fifth annual in-
novateUNG Pitch Challenge held Feb.
21 at the University of North Georgia’s
(UNG) Dahlonega Campus.
Hames competed with Convergent
Referrals, an app that connects buyers
and sellers with real estate agents.

the innovativeness and entrepreneurial
spirit of individuals and teams com
posed of full-time degree-seeking un
dergraduate UNG students.
