Sandra K. Adams
COMMERCE — Sandra K. Adams, 75, Com
merce, died Friday, May 26, 2023 at Bountiful
Hills.
Mrs. Adams was bom in England, Arkansas,
to the late James C. and Nell Oakley Cates. She
was a member of the Baptist faith and retired from
Southeast Toyota and Baker & Taylor.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was pre
ceded in death by her son, Erick Adams.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband, William
Barry Adams, Commerce; son, Brent Adams (Su
san), Elberton; brothers, Jimmy Cates (Rose), Am
arillo, Texas, and Randy Cates (Janena), Austin,
Texas; sister, Rhonda Higgs (Stan), Saddler, Tex
as; step-grandson, Michael Snover (Hannah); and
step-great-grandson, Wyatt Snover.
Funeral service: Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at
11 a.m. at Rogers Baptist Church with the Revs.
Barry Bray and Danny Hill officiating. Interment
will follow in the church cemetery.
Family to receive friends: Tuesday, May 30,
2023, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
Rogers Baptist Church, 1318 Aderhold Road,
Commerce, a. 30530.

was a retired lineman
with Jackson Electric
Membership Corpora
tion, a member of the
Unity Masonic Lodge
and a member of Beth
any Methodist Church.
Survivors include his
mother, Jean Jackson Bullock; a daughter, Amy
Bullock, Atlanta; son, Larry Vance “Tripp” Bull
ock III, Jefferson; sister, Michelle Bullock Reece
(Jay), Ellijay; niece, E.B. Cole (Shane); and neph
ews, Trey Reece (Morgan) and Colby Reece.

Cheyenne Makayla Carter
ELBERTON — Cheyenne Makayla Carter, 19,
Elberton, entered into rest on Monday, May 22,
2023, at her residence surrounded by her family,
following a courageous five year battle with Hun
tington’s Disease.
Cheyenne was bom in
Gainesville on Septem
ber 2, 2003, and attend
ed school in Madison
County. She was a ram
bunctious and energetic
child who loved singing
and dancing. Cheyenne
loved spending time
reading, but was espe
cially fond of spending
time being surrounded
by horses. Above all,
she was happiest when riding around in her 1967
Ford Mustang.
She is survived by her parents, Amanda Gail
Hosch Doster and Bobby Lewis Doster; and her
siblings, Bobby Ray Doster and Josie Doster, all
of Elberton. Cheyenne also leaves behind a host of
extended family and friends that she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert
Kevin Carter.
Her favorite color was purple, and the family is
requesting those attending the service events wear
purple in her honor.

Phyllis Grace Mayberry Dickinson
DANIELSVILLE — Phyllis Grace Mayberry
Dickinson, 74, Danielsville, passed away peaceful
ly on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hos
pice House in Athens.
Mrs. Dickinson was bom in Opelika, Alabama,
on January 17, 1949, daughter of the late Joseph
Preston Mayberry and the late Frances Grace
Mayberry. She was a Registered Nurse and Cer
tified Hospice Nurse, last working with VistaCare
Hospice providing in-home nursing care. She was
a member of Danielsville Evangelical Church in
Danielsville, and New Mt. Zion Church of God
Holiness in Royston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her son, Christopher Dickinson.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Dickinson;
daughter, Sherry Johnson; son, James Hochst-
edler Jr.; and grandchildren, Edward Lester, Grace
Hochstedler, and Rose Hochstedler.
Funeral service: Saturday, June 3,2023, at 2 p.m.
at the Danielsville Evangelical Church with Pastor
Dwayne Dickerson and Elder Marvin Smith co-of-
ficiating. Interment will follow in the Danielsville
Evangelical Church Cemetery.
Family to receive friends: Saturday, June 3,2023,
from 1-2 p.m. at the church. During other times,
the family will be at the home.

Carolyn Louise Compton Graham
DANIELSVILLE — Carolyn Louise Compton
Graham, 84, Danielsville, joined the Church Tri
umphant on May 25, 2023, at Piedmont Athens
Regional Medical Center, after long struggles with
health issues.
Carolyn was bom in
Danielsville on Febru
ary 14, 1939, to the late
Ellis Dewey and Eula
Mae Patten Compton.
Carolyn was a home
maker and mother, first.
She worked a garden all
her life, canned, was the
best cook, made the best
angel biscuits, pound
cake and sweet potato
pies, all while caring for
her girls and taking care of the home.
Over her lifetime Carolyn taught private piano
lessons in her home, worked at Madison County
ASCS office, the Bank of Danielsville, Emmanuel
College and LifeSprings Jittery Joe’s.
Her faith in Jesus Christ was the most import
ant aspect of her life. She studied the Word, read
for instmction and understanding, and loved music
which magnified God.
She is survived by her husband, Odis Graham;
three daughters, Amanda, Anita, and Marie; sev
en grandchildren, Graham Brown, Ellis Brown,
Chancie (Alex) Dills, Tyler Cochran, Mason
(Linda) Headden, Hunter Headden and Collin
Headden; five great-grandchildren, Addy, Anna,
Kayleigh, Eli, Ellie and Olivia; one sister, Elaine
(Hershel) Childs; one brother and sister-in-law,
Talmadge and Sandra Graham; seven nieces, Beth
Jackson, Shirley Keowan, Martha Jane Phillips,
Betty Bymm Pless, Gradine Echols Fleeman, De
nise Echols and Kara Graham; seven nephews,
Phil Zaborowski, Lowell Thomas, Doug Thomas,
Robert Thomas, Raymond Brewster, Tony Gra
ham, Tracy (Brenda) Graham and David Echols;
and a number of great-nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters
and brothers-in-law, Leah Jackson, Joyce Comp
ton, Rebekah Thomas, Dorothy (Lewis) Brewster,
Ruth (Grady) Echols, Joel (Ethel) Graham and JD
(Mary) Graham; five nieces, Lynn Thomas, Cheri
Thomas, Denise Thomas, Deborah White and Syb
il Graham Partain; and six nephews, John White,
David Jackson, Jimmy (Sara) Brewster, Melvin
(Roberta) Graham and Joe Graham.
Funeral service: Monday, May 29, 2023, at
Royston First United Methodist Church with a pre
lude concert beginning at 12:30 p.m. and service
starting at 1 p.m. with the Revs. Harrison Lamp-
ley, Pierce Ashmore and Terri Stagner-Collier and
Dr. Earl Beatty officiating. Interment will follow in
the Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery, 6158 Hwy.
191, Comer, Ga. 30629.

Mary Frances “Vicky” Heath
HULL — Mary Frances “Vicky” Heath, 80,
Hull, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023.
Mary was bom in
Cave Spring, to the late
Thomas E. and Frances
Dempsey. She is pre
ceded in death by her
husband, Bobby Hoyt
Heath; her brother,
Thomas E. Dempsey Jr.;
her sister, Betty Mar
cus; and brother-in-law,
James Robert “Bob”
Crawford.
She is survived by her
three sons, Edward (Heather) Heath, Carlton, Mi
chael (Beth) Heath, Carlton, and Benjamin (Kim)
Heath, Bogart; her five grandsons, William, Beau,
Evan, Brady and Jackson; her sisters, Joan Craw
ford, Newnan, and Reba (Gerald) Lindsey, Rome;
her sister-in-law, Reatha Dempsey, Cave Spring;
and many very beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary enjoyed her early life in her hometown of
Cave Spring, with her family. She married Bobby
Heath in 1964 at which time they moved to Athens,
and then to Hull, shortly thereafter.
In addition to having her sons, she and Bobby
co-founded and co-owned Power and Heath Pro
duce in Athens, with Mike Power for many years.
She was a hard-working Mom and wife until her
retirement in later years. After her retirement she
loved to read and help her family. While Mary
wasn’t able to attend church in her later years, she
loved the Lord and told her family often how good
He has been to her throughout her years.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a
later date in Cave Spring.

Dr. Robert Franklin “Frank” Horner
GAINESVILLE — Dr. Robert Franklin “Frank”
Homer, 96, died of natural causes in his home in
Gainesville, on Friday, May 26, 2023.
Bom on January 19,
1927, in Chattanooga,
Tenn., Dr. Homer grad
uated from City High
School in Chattanooga
and served in the United
States Army. He com
pleted his bachelor’s
degree in 1950 at the
University of Chatta
nooga, where he served
as junior and senior
class president, as well
as president of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity
chapter, and was elected to Who’s Who in Amer
ican Colleges and Universities.
After college, Dr. Homer was commissioned as
