Missing Braselton teens found safe

partment has found two teens
who went missing recently.
According to Major Mi
chael Steffinan, the depart
ment safely located both Mi
guel O. Becker, 16, and Marc
Blackmond Snyder, 16.
Becker had been missing
since Sept. 5 and Snyder since
Sept. 10.
According to Steffinan,
Becker called someone from
a McDonald’s on Friday
(Sept. 22) to notify them of his
whereabouts. Braselton police
transported him back to his
grandmother’s house.
On Saturday (Sept. 23),
Gwinnett County law en
forcement located Snyder at
his grandmother’s house in
Gwinnett County.
Braselton
Planners
recommend
approval of
restaurant, retail
development

given their blessing to a pro
posed restaurant and retail
development along Hwy.
211 in front of Ace Hard
ware.
The Braselton Planning
Commission voted 3-0
Monday (Sept. 25) to rec
ommend approval, with
conditions, of a planned unit
development (PUD) amend
ment for the project.
The Braselton Town
Council will consider the
proposal during an Oct. 5
(4:30 p.m.) public hearing
with a potential final vote
Oct. 9 (7 p.m.).
The plan calls for three
buildings totaling 17,827
square feet on Village Way
with frontage on Hwy. 211.
The applicant, Land De
velopment and Engineer
ing, would construct these
buildings on three separate
parcels. The combined site
is 3.78 acres.
Other than a Tropical
Smoothie, potential tenants
were not named specifical
ly during Monday’s public
hearing. But they were said
to be nationally-known, ca
sual-dining brands, includ
ing a breakfast establishment
and a higher-end catering

Hall County planners
are taking more time to
consider a proposed 185-
unit apartment develop
ment in South Hall on
Friendship Rd.
The Hall County Plan
ning Commission recently
voted to table recommen
dations on two rezoning
requests for the project.
The planning commis
sion, which discussed the
items for nearly two hours
at its Sept. 18 meeting,
will revisit the proposal
on Oct. 16.
The board, however,
has taken action on one
item related to the project,
recommending denial of a
transitional buffer reduc
tion.
The apartment plans
drew opposition from
multiple residents of
