AIDS PLAY RETURNS WARREN RANSON’S POTENT One of the quilts used as the backdrop in WARREN TORCHSONG BENEFIT RAISES $4900 FOR AIDS The opening night per formance of Harvey Fier- stein's "Torchsong Tri logy" was a successful benefit for AID Atlanta. The benefit, co-spon- sored by the Georgia Association of Physicians for Human Rights and the Atlanta Business and Pro fessional Guild, raised $4900 as a result of 800 tickets being sold. The original goal was 500 tickets. Stosh Ostrow, one of the leaders of the event said that because of the success of the benefit that GAPHR and the Cam paign for Human Rights would be selling tickets for the entire house the opening night of "La Cage aux Folles". The opening will be January 29. In addition, tickets will be. sold for a cast party, says Ostrow. For more info call’872-0600 Seven Stages is bring ing back the highly successful play, "Warren", December 12-22. The play, performed as a work-in-progress this summer, is based on the life of Warren Johnston, who died from AIDS. The play explores the impact Warren's disease has on those surrounding him. Rebecca Ranson, the playwright and a close friend of Warren's, has completed and rewritten the script after working on it this fall. "I want this to be a tribute to my friendship with Warren," says Ranson. "But also educational and to raise people's aware ness of AIDS and to in spire them to become involved.” "The play is not only about death. The story is about relationships and a very beautiful and earing person," says Jon Goldman, who plays Warren. "Warren" opens at Seven Stages on December 12 and plays through December 22, Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00. On Saturday at 11:30 pm there will be a late evening performances. Seven Stages is located at ; 430 Moreland Ave. in Lit tle Five Points. Tickets I are $6 on Wednesday and Thursday, $8 on Friday and Saturday. Group rates available. Call 523-7647 for reservations.
