To help in thi&need The Food Bank for the Home Front Project has been created. The project is requesting canned goods, personal items or cash donations to purchase them. Donations of canned fruits and vegetables (no green beans or com) and toilet articles will be received at the Metropolitan Commuinity Church of the pleased Redeemer at 600 N. Highland Avenue. Pick up of largpr items can be arranged by calling John Routh at 753-7234 or 577-5584. Checks may be written to The Food Bank for the Home Front Project and sent to the church. AID ATLANTA is a non-profit service organization comprised of volunteers: health professionals, members of the general public and community leaders who provide direct services to people with AIDS, assistance to health care providers and information to the public on Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Services are provided free of charge to anyone who requests them. The Atlanta Chapter of Gay Fathers Coalition International will meet at the Unitarian Church on Cliff Valley Way on the first and third Sundays of each month at 8pm. Gay Fathers Coalition International of Atlanta is a community based, non-profit organization of gay men with children. Meetings provide information and assistance to gay fathers in dealing constructively with homosexuality and parenting. For further information cpntact Luis Ferrer at 952-5322. AID ATLANTA TRAINING AID Atlanta's next all volunteer training week end will be held on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, in the new Rich Auditorium at Piedmont Hospital. The training week ends are designed as comprehensive introductions to the AIDS epidemic, AID Atlanta's response and the types of activities available for volunteers and potential volunteers. Continuing Education Unit credit is available from the University of Georgia School of Social Work, Office of Continuing Social Work Education. AID Atlanta is an organization also approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. The APA approved sponsor maintains responsibility for the program. Volunteers for AID Atlanta are required to attend one of these week end training sessions and one of the volunteer orientation sessions which are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the AID Atlanta office at 7:30 p.m. The deadline for registering for the training week end is Tuesday, May 27, at 9:00p.m. Registration may be made at the AID Atlanta office at 811 Cypress St. N.E., or call 872-0600. AIDS MEMORIAL SERVICE AID Atlanta will sponsor their annual memorial service for people who have died from AIDS on Sunday, June 29,1986, at All Saints Episcopal Church, at 3:00 PM. Anyone wishing to have someone remembered at the service should call AID Atlanta with the appropriate information.
