week training course to be volunteer
counselors for the AGt Help-Line on Monday,
May 5. The training, which occurs on
consecutive Monday evenings plus one all day
Saturday session, covers listening and
counseling skills plus information on
community resources and services.
The new class and present Help-Liners
celebrated on Sunday, May 11, with a Pot Luck
Dinner described as "indecently delicious."
One volunteer who helped train the new
class summed up the whole Help-Line attitude
when he said, "In addition to the good feelings
I get from working for others on the telephone,
the Help-Line has helped me make more good
friends and feel more part of the community
than anything I've ever done in my whole life.
Every new group of volunteers just makes it
better and better. We're really going to enjoy
working with the people from the new class.
They have a lot in common but the variety of
different people is amazing. It's inspiring to nve
to see such a diverse, but dedicatedgroup of
people working together for a common
purpose." t
The Help—Line will be offering its training
