ATLANTA'S GAY
COMMUNITY SHARES
THOUGHTS ON PRIDE
The following is from a random sampling of
member organizations in Atlanta's Gay
Community when questioned about PRIDE.
"We're planning to march. We have our banner ready", Sally
Gordon, ALFA
"I feel it's important that the gay student alliance will be
represented in the parade because we are paving the way for other
students who may be reluctant to come out We'd like to see other
organizations get involved as well and perhaps our involvment will
give them an incentive to become more active in the gay
community." Mailey McLaughlin, GSU Student Alliance
"We plan to march in the parade. We want to support our children's
cause for equal rights." Mr. Haver, PFLAG
"We are few in number but strong and we will be there." Alexander
Wallace, GALA
"We are looking at the possibility of having a booth at the rally as
well as marching in the parade." John Keiber, ACT
"Ill be there and so will the Atlanta Royal Court" Ted Binkley,
ABPG, Atlanta Royal Court
"The AWCC supports all the activities on the agenda for Gay Pride
Week. It feels very-important for gay women and men to come
together and celebrate." Michelle Gale, AWCC
"We've been supporting the Pride Week Committee right from the
start and all the organizations in the Metro Council are thrilled
about the work the new Pride Committee has done and hope all of
Atlanta comes out to support all the Committee has done."
Alexander Wallace, Metro Council
