GIRL’S DRESS, 6368. TO BE WORN WITH OR WITHOUT A GUIMFE The dress that can be worn either with or without a guimpe as the day may require is a serviceable one, and this pretty little model possesses that advantage at the same time that it is chic and attractive. In the illustration it is made of a simple printed wash fabric with bands of white, but it is adapted to almost every seasonable fabric, for it is just as well suited to the thinner lawns, batiste and other muslins as it is to chambray, ginghams and percales. For the trimming bands any contrasting ma terial would be pretty, and if something very elaborate were wanted they could be made from embroidery or heavy lace, or they could be braided with the soutache that is such a favorite. The sleeves are cut in one with the blouse portion and the labor of making is slight in the extreme, yet the dress is one of the most attractive the season has to offer. The frock is made with blouse and skirt. The blouse consists of the front and back portions, and the skirt is made in one straight piece. ROUND YOKE NEGLIGEE. 6865. The negligee that is made slightly low at the neck and with short sleeves is a de sirable one on a warm day, and this model is essentially dainty and attractive. In this case it is made of lawn and the yoke and long sleeves are embroidered, but while such finish is both fashionable and attrac tive it is not necessary, for the yoke could be trimmed with embroidery or lace, or could be left plain if something simpler is wanted. In the back view the same gar ment is shown with the neck cut high and finished with a standing collar and with long, plain sleeves, and treated in such way it becomes an entirely different gar ment, yet the one pattern includes both styles. The negligee is made with fronts and back, which are gathered and joined to the yoke. The edges of the short sleeves can be held together by ribbon-ties or tacked one to the other,as liked. The long sleeves are plain and cut in one piece each. The quantity of material required for the medium size is 3| yards 24, 3g yards 32, or 21 yards 44 inches wide.
