Marini, g Gore, one of the oldest
citizens of the county, living near
r, was dead. He was visiting

denly ill, and in a few minutes
expired. His death was due to heart
troifble from which he had been a
sufferer for years.
The death of- Mr. Gore removes
one of the oldest residents of
the.county, he being at the time
of,his death in his 79th year! lie
moved to this section in 1880 from
Madison comity, in this state, and
settled just a short distance west
of where the town of LithiaSpringf
is now situated. And since that
time he has lived continously in'

Mr. Gore was the fatner of Mr.
J, B. Gore, Donglasville’s popular
barber, and was the father of a
number of other children, most of
whom live in this county, among
them being Mr. M. A. Gore, of
'Ralph, who is/ one of ;the most
prominent and successful farmers
m the county.
The remains were interred at

Hold Meeting.
The alumni and alumnin of
Douglasville College will hold
their annual meeting in the Presi
dent's room, - at the college, on
fV'ednesday, June, 2. at 8 o’clock,
p. m.
Mr. x). P. Mason, lately deceas
ed, was president of The association
of alumni-alumnae. In conse
quence of Mr. Mason’s death, some

is secretary of the association.
The programme for the annual
meeting will be as follows:
