Two new monuments will early

that purchases will early be made.
A street carnival company had
possession of the town last week
hut it was not much of a success.
Some of the features were good,
others were poor and indecent,

business. The contract under
which they came provided that
Douglasville should receive ten

A-Our judicial district has four
counties; our senatorial district
has the same number. Os the
number Douglas has the smallest
population. This is a fact of
which we are not proud, but when
we consider that our county is the
youngest m years and decidedly
the least in size it does not show
up at all badly m the comparison.
And if our population' grows as it
has during the past twenty four
months we may lead some of our
sisters in the next census. *
Dr. R. J. Maseay, of Atlanta,
was here this week. With him
small pox is a sort of specialty. He
has had the disease himself and
treated many afflicted with it.
He aided in getting the malady
stamped out of Douglas county.
In speaking of his experiences nere
he paid a very high compliment
to Dr. Henly. Said he no man
could hav« discharged the duties
assigned to him better than did
Dr. Henley. He gave skilful at
tention to those afflicted and kept
a watchful eye to prevent a’spread
of the disease. Dr Massay thinks
that to him much credit is due.
How to. Cure the Grip.
Remain quietly at home and take
Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy as di
rected and a quick recovery is sure
to follow. That remedy counteracts
any tendency of the grip to result in
pneumonia, which is really the only
serious danger. Among the tens of
thousands who have used it for the
grip, not one case have ever been re.
ported that did not recover. For sale

Danger of Colds and La Grippe.
The greatest daogex from colds
and la grippe is their resulting in
pneumonia, If reasonable care is
used, however, and Chamberlain's
Cough Remedy taken, all danger will
be avoided. Among the tens of thous
ands who have used this remedy for
these diseases, we have yet to learn
of a single case having resulted in
pneumonia, which shows conclusively
that it is a certain preventive of that
dangerous malady. It will cute a cold
or an attack of la grippe in less time
than any other treatment. It is pleas
ant nnd safe to take. For sale by

Mrs. C. S Rousseau died yester

several weeks has suffered greatly
from cancer. With the weight of
many years resting upon her
shoqlders and an enfeebled system
she was not able to resist the rav

was not unexpected. For thirteen
years she had been a,widow. Her
husband died at about tliis season
of the year and was bnnied at
Austell. Her remains were laid
by his side this morning. Mrs.
Rousseau spent most of her long

I used was two bottles of Chamber

the cold and stopped the coughing
like magic, and I have never since
