The School year consists of ten months, with a
short vacation in midsummer, and a long one at
Christmas. The next session will commence February
4, and end July 26.
There will be an examination at the end of each
term, not open except to the parents and friends ot
the pupils, and to invited guests. Parents, Guardians,
and friends are requested to visit the Institute at
any tinm.
A strict daily record is kept of each pupil's conduct
and scholarship ; and at the end of the month, a re
port is sent home to the parent or guardian.
The punctual attendance at the beginning, and
throughout the session, is of the highest consequence.
No allowance can be made for absence except in the
Case of protracted illness.
The range of Studies pursued is divided into a

PREPARATORY COURSE,
First Form and Second Foim.
and an ACADEMIC COURSE,
First form, second form and third form
Circulars containing particulars of tiiis arrangement
in tabular order furnished on application.
Modern and Ancient Languages, Music, Drawing,
&c., taught at any stage of either course, as may be
desired.

J- For the character of the Institute as a Military
College we refer to the report of the Board of Visitors
and the Annual Message of his Excellency the Gov
ernor. The Board of .Visitors for 1860 commend
“ the good order and neatness of every thing con
nected with the School,” —“ the thoroughness of its
instruction the high tone and gentlemanly
bearing of the Cadets individually and as a Corps”—
and ‘‘congratulate the patrons of the Institute upon
the growth, health and muscle of their sons devel
C>ped by Military training.”
1 he Governor in his Annual .Message accords high
|n‘afsc to the discipline and government of the School
and declares it to be “ to the future protection
and lyieaini'fs of our State,” We invite special attention
to the fact that the Governor of the State is President
