MARIETTA, - * - APRIB2S.
Our cFty has been more than ordinarily
lively the present week. and is beginning to wear
’'something like its Summer appearance. Mi th the
arrival of soldiers for Camp Smyrna, the frequent
military meetings, organizing companies, the rattle
of drum and tile, and the many mditai y flappings
to be seen, we are beginning to feel somewhat war
like,

County Mee ing.
At a Electing of the citizens of Marietta on the
19th inst., it was unanimously resolved that the
citizens of Cobb County be requested to meet ar
the'Court House on Saturday, the 2731 instant.—
The meeting is a most important one, the object
being an earnest effort to organize one or more vol
unteer companies for the Confederate army, and to
guarantee the means for rendering prompt ami es
ficient service. Several patriotic gentlemen have
made liberal offers towards organizing a d equip
ping companies. Many others, wo doubt not, wifi .
respond in the same spirit—weshall nee the n.ilita-’
ry feeling aroused—hundreds of the hardy sons of
Old Cobb will enter the ranks, ami vindicate her
from the charge of indifference to the car.re in
behalf of which so many patriotic Southerners
arc already doing battle.
