Confederate Government has aurlvorized .
the undersigned to raise a regiment of Infantry, i
to serve for three years, or during the war, —
which it agrees to fully arm and equip. Com
panies numbering sixty-four men and upwards,
will be accepted and ordered into camps imme
diately. Nobly has Georgia responded to the
calls made upon her. I eorgians are found in
every camping ground from the Rio Grande to
the Potomac. But patriots and soldiers of Geor
gia. again the call comes for men. more men/
The enemy is swarming on our coast, to wrest
from us all that we hold dear, our liberty, our
honor, the honor as our families and our prop
erty. Friends of the South, remember, to be
conquered is death and disgrace, and blots out
the sunshine from every home and fireside in the
South. I was one of the first to strike for South
ern Independence, both at tin* ballot box am! in
the field, and with Divine assistance. and the
help of my countrymen, will fight until we drive
the last enemy from our soil.

Important Rumor in Richmond.
Richmond. N w. 25. —There are many ru- i
mors afloat here to-day, among which is one
that Lord Lyons, the English Minister in
Washington, has demanded the release and
return of Messrs. Mason and Slidell; that the
demand has Been refused and that Lord Ly- i
on« had asked for his passports. The repor- ,
terw s unab e to trace the rumor to any relia
ble source.
Confederate Congress.
Richmond, Nov. 25. Congress was in se
cret session to-day. It is reported that sev
eral important resolutions were presented,
and referred to the Committees on Finance i
Commerce, and the Judiciary,
Thereis nothing of interest from anv quar- '
ter to-day.
Savannah, Nov. 2G.—Com. Tatnall, with '
three small steamers and one gun-boat, at- '
tacked the enemy’s fleet at Cockspur Roa.ls I
to-day. The engagement lasted an hour, and
some forty to fifty shots were exchanged.—
1 here was nobody hurt on our side. The
effect on the enemy is not known. Failing in
the effort to draw the Federal fleet, in reach
of the guns of Fort Pulaski. Com. Tatnall re- ■
tired.
Six large vessels are now inside of the
bar one of them, a large frigate, was towed'
over this afternoon. The enemy has pickets
all around Tybee Island, as far a King’s
Landing.
It is reported that the Yankees have taken
po session ofWorsaw Island.
It is believed that the enemy are preparing
to attack Fort Pulaski.
Affairs in Kentucky.
Nashville, Nov 26.—The movements? in
Louisville and elsewhere in Kentucky, seem
to indicate an early advance of the Federalists,
in large numbers. For the past ten days,
from two to three Regimehts have been sent ]
forward to Bowling Green.
Gen. Nelson’s comniaand has been with
drawn from Prestonburg to the mouth of San
dy river, whence it was taken to Louisville.
The Wild Cat and Camp Dick Robinson
troops seem to be concentrating at Danville
aud Crab Orchard.
Richmond, Nov. 26 —The Baltimore Sun of
the 23d, has been received here to-day. It
reports that several Federal reviews and sham
battles had taken place near Washington, in
order to accustom the Federalists to the ac
tion which is shortly to take place. It is
said that the sham battles was in the highest
degree, creditable to the discipline and effi
ciency of the army.
Indications ofan Engagement at Manassas
Manassas, Nov. 26.—The Federal and
Confederate camps indicate that an engage
ment will take place in a day or two on the
Potomac,
Nashville. Nov. 25.—A gentleman arriv
ed here yesterday, who passed through Loii_
isvdle on the 18th inst., tales that 2,009 Fed
eral cavalry arrived in L uiisvilleon that day.
It was said they were from Ohio
The Cincinnati Commercial of the 18th inst.
publishes an account of the stampede of the
Federal e> pedition against Cumberlard Gap.
The Commercial's account states that the
stampede was worse than the Bull Run affair.
The cause of the stampede was the result of
Gen. Hardee’s expedition. It was reported
that Gen. Hardee was advancing with 100.000
men. The <'oniineteial savs it has no heart
to comment on such imbecility.
More Prisoners for the South.
Richmond, Nov. 25. —Three-hundred Fed
eral prisoners have just pa-sed through the
street, bound for some secure place in Dixie’s
Lund.
The very Latest.
Richmond, Nov - 28.—The Presidenl to-day
signed a bill u limiting Misso ,ri into the Con
fedei aey.
Ru imo.nd, Nov. 2”. ffeasi’n exist to antici
pate an early engagement at Manassas. The
battle will perhaps occur simultaneously at
Evansport and Centreville. There is a large
force of Federals opposite Evansport w ith a
number of bridges prep tied for throwing troops
across < leeoquan Creek, evi lently for a land and
nival attack on Evansport
