Parkwood ES students ‘empowered’
Special to the Journal
Per a release: Parkwood Elementary
School values student writing. At least one
form of proof in that regard came Aug.
27 and 28, when third, fourth and fifth
grade teachers collaborated with Columbia
University writing coach, Tiffany Nealy.
They used this time to continue the develop
ment of curriculum which guides children in
their writing.
The Writers Workshop framework, accord
ing to the release, empowers students and
encourages them to write at home, school
or anyplace else in order to live a “writer’s
life.” All students at Parkwood Elementary
