On cataracts, telephone poles and judging others
One day I noticed that the left
lens of my glasses seemed
dingy. I kept cleaning my lens
but to no avail. To diagnose my prob
lem, I removed my glasses and placed
my hand over my right eye. Everything
in my line of vision appeared hazy and
indistinct. I immediately scheduled an
appointment with an optometrist.
His examination revealed a cataract
ofsignifjcant size pn my left eye. One
was also found on my right eye, but it
wasn’t large enough to interfere with
vision.
Since I was having problems reading,
with depth perception and driving a
car, particularly at night, a referral was
made to an eye surgeon who advised

be Fred McCoy and Tim
Milwood. According to a
spokesperson for the church,
McCoy will preach Oct. 1 at

“Blessed to be a Blessing,”

Unless we are faultless, we are
unqualified to criticize the sawdust
speck in our neighbor’s eye when a
telephone pole is lodged in our own.
There is so much bad in the best of
us and enough good in the worst of us
that that neither party is qualified to
judge.

As students of life, we
need frequent confronta
tion with “The Man with
the BIG plan, knowing that
He wants to help us bring
out our best qualities.
Sometimes we respond to
His gentleness. At others,
He has to be strict in order
to capture our attention.
Yet, His BIG plan is based
on love ... a love so great
He sacrificed His son to free
us from the bonds of sin.

those whose guilt has been

sins are covered over! What
relief for those who have
confessed their sins and God
has cleared their record.”
