Musical message brings peace
It was one of those
nights when things
over which I had no
control prevented sleep.
Aware that God was lis
tening to my prayers and
that He knew exactly how
to deal with each situation,
I admitted that He must
maintain control.
At this point, the one
way conversation ceased.
The scripture, “Be still
and know that I am God,”
(Psalms 46:10A), should
have been acknowledged
sooner.
At this moment, I eased
out of bed and quietly went
to a favorite place of seclu
sion. The clock registered
1:15 a.m.
I turned the key to a
music box, which began
Making something out of nothing
The two principle enti
ties that inhabit the uni
verse are matter and the
space that it occupies. No
one knows the composition
of empty space or what it
is made of. But matter is
everything that we can see,
touch or feel. Anything that
occupies space is matter:
the earth, the seas, the sun,
the stars, even man himself
is matter. There are three
familiar states of matter
- solids, liquids and gases,
each of which can change to
the other forms at different
temperatures.
But now we know that all
matter is made of atoms.
The atom is so small as to
numb the imagination. Its
diameter is less than a hun
dred millionth of an inch; it
would take more than a mil
lion of them, edge to edge,
to match the thickness of
paper. Its central nucleus is
only about a hundred thou
sandths of the atom’s diam
eter, but accounts for 99.9-
percent of its entire mass.

Concentrating on the last
phrase, “Everything’s going
MY way,” I began hearing,
“Everything’s going GOD’S
way!” That was all the
assurance I needed. God
was controlling those things
beyond my control. I simply

electrons endlessly circle
the nucleus at breakneck
speeds, held captive by their
electrical attraction to the
nucleus. Although compris

the atom’s mass, electrons
are what give the atom its
basic personality.
Every atom has the same
basic internal structure i.e.
the protons, neutrons and
electrons in any one atom
are identical to those in
another atom.

to get through to me.
As the tune continued
to flow from the music box,
God used the familiar lyr
ics to capture my attention.
Returning to bed with the
melody and revised words in
my heart brought sleep and
peaceful rest.
It cannot always be said
that “Everything is going
God’s way,” but in this case
the musical message implied
that there was no need for
me to fret. The situations
were under control... God’s
control.
I only needed to remem
ber the scriptural words of
comfort:
“Be still and know that I
am God”
“Be still and know”
“Be still.”
is the configuration of their
respective atoms.
The foregoing describes
matter in our world and uni
verse as we know it today;
The Bible implies there was
a time when matter and
space did not exist and that
God made the universe from
scratch. Genesis 1.1 states,
“ In the beginning God cre
ated the heavens and the
earth.” In effect, God made
something out of nothing.
Hebrews 11.3 corroborates
that by saying “ the world
was created by the word of
God so that what is seen was
made of things that did not
exist.” God was the archi
tect of creation, but Christ,
the “Word” referenced in
John’s prologue, was its
agent. He literally spoke
the universe into existence.
Flaming stars were cast
from His fiery fingertips to
light the dark voids of outer
space. “All things were made
by Him and without Him
was not anything made that
was made.”
