Lady Eagles take maroon pool at Brookwood Invitational
From staff reports
Don’t expect any major
change in school colors,
but for today, Northside is
“maroon.”
That was the pool/division
the Lady Eagles won this past
weekend at the Brookwood
Softball Invitational held at
the same location.
Northside finished the
tournament 4-2 overall,
which included going 3-0
Saturday.
Both of the Lady Eagles’
losses then came Friday. The
first was 3-0 and came at the
hands of Parkview - Hollie
Langston taking the loss.
The second was to Eastside,
which is ranked seventh in
AAAA.
“We gave up two runs in the
first inning,” said Northside
Head Fast-pitch Coach Mitch
Horton, “and that was it.”
Sarah Purvis took the loss in
that one on the mound.
The Lady Eagles then fin
ished the first day of com
petition by beating Sandy
Creek, which is ranked sixth
in AAA, 4-1.
On day two, they beat
Central Gwinnett 3-0 to
open, with Purvis pitching
the shutout.
Langston also rebounded
on the mound, pitching five
innings and leading the Lady
Eagles to a 3-1 win over
gorgeous Tall 'Mums
