A number of employees were honored for outstanding community health education
service at Wednesday night’s meeting of the Hospital Authority of Houston County.
Recognized in a presentation by Marketing Director Mary Jane Kinnas were, from left,

Brown-Brake. Authority Chairman Sonny Watson thanked the employees for their

MGMAC to host Middle Georgia Military Ball

the “60th Anniversary of the
U.S. Air Force - “Heritage
to Horizons.” Nov. 3 at the
Century of Flight Hangar
of the Museum of Aviation.
The doors open for the ball
at 6:30 p.m.
Entertainment will be
provided by the Band of
the U.S. Air Force Reserve,
Reserve Generation; the
U.S. Air Force Honor Guard
Drill Team; and the U.S. Air
Force Strolling Strings.
The Band of the U.S.
Air Force Reserve’s popu
lar music group, Reserve
Generation, represents the
Air Force and Air Force
Reserve performing a mix of
contemporary adult songs,
rhythm and blues, jazz and
country from the 60s to
today’s Billboard Magazine
Hot 100.
The U.S. Air Force Honor
Guard Drill Team is the
traveling component of the
AF Honor Guard and tours
AF bases worldwide.
The United States Air
Force Strolling Strings have
entertained audiences at
high-level protocol events
since 1954. The Air Force
Strings has had the honor
of performing at the White
House for every presi
dent from Eisenhower to
Clinton.
Their repertoire includes
classical, popular, continen
tal, Broadway, bluegrass and
patriotic compositions.

Oxendine revokes
three licenses

Insurance Commissioner
John W. Oxendine announced
this week he had revoked
the licenses of three agents
for violating the Military
Sales regulations the com
missioner recently enacted
to protect soldiers from
unscrupulous solicitation.
Agents Carl Dickerson,
Columbus; Dexter L.
Steverson, Hinesville and
John T. McGhee, Midland,
all had their licenses to sell
insurance revoked in sepa
rate orders.
All of the agents had been
selling at Fort Benning, and
have been barred from that
base by military authorities.
On Sept. 1, Georgia became
one of the first states to
adopt new regulations - 120-
2-95 - to protect military
recruits from deceptive or
misleading life insurance
sales practices or products.
