__ WRITING k I Ski HOUSTON HOME JOURNAL 91 county students named AP Scholars Special to the Journal Ninety-one Houston County students have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board. Thirty-four Houston County High students, 16 Northside High students, 15 Perry High students and 26 Warner Robins High stu dents have been recognized by the College Board for their exceptional achievement on college-level Advanced Placement Program Exams. Students took AP exams in May 2007 after complet ing challenging college level courses at their high schools. AP exams are grad ed on a five-point scale, with five being the highest for “extremely well qualified.” ”We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our AP Scholars,” said Superintendent David Carpenter. “I commend our exceptional teachers and staff in addition to our stu dents. According to a release, the College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both for suc cessful performance on the AP Exams.
