icated Sunday with a chorus
of over 100 students singing
patriotic songs, readings by
students Bailey Noles and
Anya Shelton, and a keynote
speech by Gov. Sonny Perdue.
There was also a ribbon cut
ting and an open house.

“They said ‘We’ll get back
to you, Sonny,’ but I haven’t
heard from them since,” he
said. Perdue told the audi
ence, “Schools are a lot like
churches. It’s the people
inside that count.”
He recognized the many
parents, grandparents and
teachers present. He also
said he was impressed by the
classroom computer equip
ment and noted that “tech
savvy” students would make
Georgia competitive around
the world.

WR Chamber to host parade

The Warner Robins Area
Chamber of Commerce
announced recently that
the 50th Annual Warner
Robins Christmas Parade
will be held Dec. 1 at 10
a.m.
The parade will begin at
the intersection of North
Houston Road and Watson
Boulevard and proceed east
to City Hall.
This year’s theme is “An
American Christmas.” The
objective is to celebrate the
wealth of diversity in our
country with festive floats,
vehicles, marching units
and the like. The parade
will showcase the variety
that the International City
has to offer.
In honor of their trium
phant victory, the Grand
Marshall of this year’s
parade will be the Warner
Robins American Little
League World Champions.
The team will be featured
at the beginning of the
parade on the very first
float.

the Chamber); and vehicle
clubs.
Deadline for entry is
Nov. 2. The chamber also
encourages volunteerism.
