SCOTT From page iB 27 touchdowns while using his large frame to run for 545 yards and four more scores. It’s not only the skills, but the experience Northside will miss the most. “That’s a valuable thing,” said Nix. “To lose somebody who’s been that involved in many games and has con tributed as much as he has. Hopefully everybody will step it up a little bit.” That point again brings the focus back to Scott, who is 19-for-39 passing for 316 yards and his touchdown throw at Upson-Lee. Last year he had 163 passing yards and a touchdown. “He’s been around a long time,” said Nix. “He’s had playing experience this year, so that’s obviously a positive. He’s a very bright . young man, and there’s no doubt he’ll be prepared and he’ll continue to move our football team.” Receiver Nick Bass is one who missed two games with a knee injury, but Northside continued to win. If Green is unable to play for an extended period of time, that takes away 944 rushing yards and 21 touch downs to go with 250 receiv ing yards and two more scores. “He’s banged up a little bit,” said Nix of Green. “He’s been banged up for several weeks. Hopefully he’ll be well enough to play and make great con tributions like he normally does.” The good news for the Eagles’ offense is that it had this past week as a bye week to adjust to the injury situations. It was even more good news for those who are “banged up.” The real work towards Robert Davis and the Westside Seminoles will begin next week. Westside, which hosted Stockbridge on Friday, had only one loss prior to the weekend, and that was in a 4-AAAA south sub-region game against Baldwin. That was the triple-overtime thriller on Oct. 4, and it’s a game Nix said they could easily have won.
