The Tiibman African American Museum will host its 12th Annual Fund-raising Gala, All That Jazz, at the Macon City Auditorium Nov. 10. According to a release, the evening will be full of good music, dancing and dining. The seven piece Cotton Club Allstars Jazz Band with soloist, Ann Sinclair, is also set to perform. This donation was made to help the Tiibman African American Museum in their ongoing efforts. Spooky Science Tubman donation Thigpen graduates Coast Guard training Special to the Journal Coast Guard Seaman Joshua S. Thigpen, son of Joann and Richard H. Thigpen of Perry, recent ly graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N. J. During the eight-week training program, Thigpen completed a vigorous train ing curriculum consisting of academics and practical instruction on water safety and survival, military cus Jaglowicz completes basic military training Special to the Journal Air Force Airman Cody B. Jaglowicz has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, he studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and spe cial training in human rela tions. In addition, those who complete basic training earn credits toward an asso ciate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Jodi Jaglowicz and grandson of Sue V Jaglowicz of E. Pointe Circle, Kathleen. He is also a 2006 gradu ate of Warner Robins High School. Thigpen and other recruits also received instruction on the Coast Guard’s core values - honor, respect and devotion to duty - and how to apply them in their mili tary performance and per sonal conduct.
