Awaken: Salon and Spa, according to a release, is Middle Georgia’s only Lifestyle Aveda Salon and Spa. The company’s mission is to care for the world we live in, from the products they make to the ways in which they give back to soci ety. At Aveda, they strive to set an example for envi ronmental leadership and responsibility, not just in the world of beauty, but around the world. Aveda is an industry trendsetter in the arts of hair styling and coloring, makeup, skincare and Spa Services. They are a profes sional brand of plant-based products. Their widely recognized Aveda network is currently comprised of over 6,500 professional hair salons and spas in 20 coun tries worldwide. Chamber representatives and other area business owners joined in the celebra tion of the new salon and spa. Owners Cade Daffin and Gianni Oliveri said that they were excited about the new location in Middle Georgia and are expecting to become more involved with the Chamber and the community. Aveda Salon Development Partner, Deb Adams boasts the great qual ity of service Aveda offers. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the salon was presented a pink ribbon to commemorate the occa sion. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, refresh ments were provided and the Awaken: Aveda Salon & Spa team was on hand to educate guests about Aveda products and services. The new salon is located at 402 Highway 247 south; Suite 2400 in the Landing Point Shopping Plaza, Bonaire. Rome Aim "lino" Haygood Wilson PERRY - Florrie Ann “Nina" Haygood Wilson, age 71, passed away at The Medical Center in Macon on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at Perry Memorial Gardens with Reverend Charles Lamb officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Mrs. Wilson was born to the late Beulah “Nunny" and Bentley Haygood. A lifelong resident of Houston County, she was a mem ber of Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins. Having retired from Robins Air Force Base, she worked in Personnel and later as a Secretary in the Air Force Reserve Unit. Survivors include her husband, Doug Wilson, of Perry; daughters, Melanie Joris (Gordy), of Macon, and Amy McCorkle (Bobby), of Port St. Lucie, FL; step-children, Annette Brown (Edward), of Atlanta, Linda Helgerson (Rick), of McDonough, Mike Wilson (Gwen), of Statesboro, Katrina Nelson (Arch), of Atlanta, and Kirby Goff, of Warner Robins; sister, Edie Wright (Thomas), of Jackson, and brother, Bentley Haygood (Betty Ann), of Forsyth; 16 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. A memo rial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Perry. Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. The daughter of the late Dayton and Pauline Phillips, Ms. Gibson grew up in Stephenville, Texas and had lived in Houston County since 2003. She was a seamstress and worked in sev eral sewing factories. Later in life, she became a caregiver for the elderly; she had been retired for eight years. Charles L. Edwards WARNER ROBINS - Charles L. Edwards Jr., 83, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at Lizella Baptist Church Cemetery, Lizella, Georgia. The family received friends Friday at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Edwards, a native of Macon, was the son of the late Charles Loris and Susan Pearl (Chapman) Edwards Sr. He was a retired sheet metal inspector from Robins Air Force Base civil service. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte (Marshall) Edwards of Lizella, son, C.L. Edwards of Warner Robins, daughters, Joyce A. Sanders and Donna Petteway of Maryland, sisters, Jackie Spann of Florida and Margaret Smith of Littlerock, AK and several grandchildren. A son, Terrell Eugene Edwards and two sisters, Carolyn Vaughn and Dorothy Bridges preceded him in death. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrange ments. Minton WARNER ROBINS - Martha G. Minton, 77, passed away Oct. 24. Her parents preceded her in death.
