HMC volunteers change to royal blue uniforms Special to the Journal Houston Medical Center’s volunteer Auxiliary recently changed their uniform color from pink to royal blue. According to Melissa Turrell, Director of Volunteer Services for Houston Healthcare, sev eral of the auxiliaries in the state of Georgia have changed their uniform colors. AF Reserve band to perform Special to the Journal The Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve is scheduled to perform a free holiday concert at the Museum of Aviation Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. This annual event fea tures songs from the band’s “Happy Holidays” series, including a mixture of clas sic holiday carols, novelty segments and sing-alongs. The new uniforms <!» the museum’s “Century of Flight Hangar.” The concert is Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m., and seating is limited. “Throughout this past year, the band has literal ly been around the world entertaining our deployed troops on five continents,” said Maj. Chad Steffey, music director and band command er. “We’re thrilled to be back home for the holidays and have been well received by patients and visitors as well as hospital staff.” More than 200 adults and young people serve as volunteers through the Auxiliaries at Perry Hospital and Houston Medical Center.
