HOUSTON HOME JOURNAL Westfield students in Kim Chalmer’s Government and Economics class pose with their “political pumpkins”. Students chose their pumpkin themes from a list of 46 political figures or American symbols. Pumpkins ranged from U.S. Presidents and presi dential candidates to the Statue of Liberty. Contributed Northside, Warner Robins students participate in GIS Day Special to the Journal Northside High AP Human Geography students and Warner Robins High AP Science students participated in Geographic Information Systems Day at Mercer University Nov. 10. Dr. Karim, Assistant Professor of Environmental Sciences, whose stu dents presented proj ects using GIS, gave the high school students an overview of GIS and its application. Afterward, the high school students were given portable GIS units to use during a treasure hunt on Mercer’s cam pus. The day was spon sored in part by Tetra Tech and coordinated by JaLynn Hudnall, Marketing Outreach for Tetra Tech.
