They are located at 1509 Sam Nunn Blvd. Base holds memorial for working dog KIA Special to the Journal Robins Air Force Base leadership held a memorial service Wednesday for Arras, a military working dog assigned here who was killed in the line of duty in Iraq. Arras was deployed to the 447th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron and Joint Operations, Sather Air Base, Iraq. He was killed while searching a building with his handler Sept. 25. A Dutch Sheppard, explo sive detector and patrol dog, he died in an explosion that resulted when he touched a location electrified by power cables. Staff Sgt. Marcus Reaves, Arras’ handler and deployed Robins Air Force Base Security Forces patrol man, received minor injuries in the explosion. After being treated and released by the 447th Expeditionary Medical Squadron, he continued the mission and assisted with Arras’ recovery efforts. During memorial ser vices in Iraq, the 447th Air Expeditionary Group Commander Col.
