Wings, Wheels show largest ever Full Nov 24 • New Dec 9 Special to the Journal A total of 306 competi tion and display vehicles were displayed at the Museum of Aviation’s 15th Annual Wings and Wheels Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show held Oct. 13 making it, according to a release, the largest show ever. “We had the best collec tion of outstanding vehicles we’ve ever had,” said show Chairman Bob Dubiel, who has chaired the last 13 shows. “They came the state of GeorgiahSrtd we even had five out-»#-state vehicles from Alabama, Kentucky and Florida.” Three of those competitors won Best in Class Trophies. An estimated 10,000 spec tators came out on a glori ous 80-degree day to view a gleaming collection of antique, classic and custom ized cars, trucks and motor cycles, worth an estimated combined total of over $6 million. The annual show benefits the Museum of Aviation, one of the largest education focused aviation museums in the United States. Vehicle entrants competed for more than 100 trophies in 44 different classes plus special trophies for best interiors, engines and paint. Five vehicles received the coveted “Best of Show” tro phies.
