GROVES
Betty Sue Groves
KATHLEEN - Betty Sue Groves,
60, passed away on Wednesday,
December 5, 2007 after 12-year
battle with breast cancer. She
died at Serenity Gate Hospice,
Perry, Georgia surrounded by her
family. Mrs. Groves was born on
August 9,1947 in Ben Hill County,
Georgia to Florence Barfield and
Aaron Barfield. She lived all of
her life in Macon and Kathleen,
Georgia. She loved her family
very much and there was nothing
she would not do for them. Until
her health got bad, she enjoyed
yard work, traveling, camping, and
loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband
of 28 years, Kenneth Groves,
Kathleen, Georgia; two daugh
ters, Karla Honeycutt (Anthony),
Perry, Georgia, and Michele
Stover, Kathleen, Georgia; sons,
Aaron Gay (Jennifer), Macon,
Georgia; father, Aaron Barfield,
Macon, Georgia; sister, Delores
Touchton (Danny), Jones County,
Georgia; brother, Cleve Barfield
(Carol), Macon, Georgia; step
daughter, Candy Suggs; stepson,
Jason Groves; eight grand chil
dren, four great-grandchildren,
four step-grandchildren, and one
step- great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her
mother, Florence Barfield; one
great-granddaughter, Remington
“Remi" Jane Honeycutt; one great
grandson, Kenneth “Lil’ Brad”
Bradley Honeycutt, Jr.; parents-in
law, Mr. and Mrs. Orie Hughes, Jr.;
both of her grandparents.
Visitation was Thursday,
December 6, 2007, at McCullough
Funeral Home with services being
held Friday, December 7, 2007, in
the chapel of McCullough Funeral
Home, and with interment following
in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family sug
gests donations be made to

KATHLEEN - Gordon Ai Pierce
Jr. died Sunday, December 2,
2007. Funeral services were held
Thursday, December 6 in the
Chapel of Rooks Funeral Home in
Fort Valley.
Born in Pottsvijle, Pennsylvania
to the late Elizabeth Mary Poda
Pierce and Gordon Ai Pierce Sr.
Mr. Pierce was retired from Robins
Air Force Base and a member
of Moose Lodge Warner Robins
Chapter 1353. He was a proud
member of the Native American
Blackfoot community. Survivors
include his wife of 25 years, Donna
V. Pierce of Kathleen; children:
Vanessa Clements (Gary) of Perry,
Philip Ai Pierce of Perry, Nancy
Steward (Lee) of Sarasota, Florida
and Gregory Allen Pierce (Peggy)
of Allendale, South Carolina;
granddaughters: Tiffany, Victoria
and Nicole; brother, George Pierce
of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, and
sister, Marion Drayer of Bangor,
Pennsylvania; stepchildren:

Janie Sue Homan
PERRY-Janie Sue Homan, 63,
passed away Tuesday, December.
Her parents, Howard Pope and
Ann Pope preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband,
Walter W. Homan, Perry, children,
Shay Tillman and Alison Tillman,
Macon, a stepson and five grand
children. Services will be private.
George Kushinka
WARNER ROBINS - George
Kushinka, 78, passed away
Tuesday. A funeral mass was held
Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church with burial following in
Parkway Memorial Gardens. Six
siblings preceded him in death.
