This win, the 29th straight for Northside, put the Eagles in the Class AAAA state championship game for the third year in a row. The first one, the only loss for the Eagles since the end of the 2004 season, ended on a late field goal for victorious Statesboro High. The Gators of head coach Dan Ragle defeated Thomas County-Central 10-7 Friday in the other AAAA semifinal held in Atlanta.
