• Peach County High
proved to be a difficult oppo

The Demon squads went to
Ft. Valley on Tuesday, and
each came back with one
more loss on the record.
The second period proved
the decisive one in the boys

As far as the meet this past weekend in
Bainbridge, Richardson said the team had
good performances from Josh Morgan, Joey
Morgan, Mark Weber, Drew Bratcher, junior
Brandon Munda and sophomore Karsten
Tufts.
“Josh and Joey each had two first place
finishes,” he said. “Mark had a first and
a second and Michael had a second and
a fourth. Tufts had a third and a fourth,
and Munda did well with a third and a
fourth.
“We were without five boys going into the
meet,” he added, “and the ones we had did
a great job of filling in the gaps and contrib
uting. It should benefit us later because of
the experience and successful performance
we received.”
As far as the girls, Richardson said
they benefited from the usually good per
formances from Annie Bratcher, Kaitlyn

Merrifield and seniors Kaitlyn Carriker
and Ansley Campbell. Combined, these
four girls were responsible for 93 of the
team’s 183 points.
“I expect these girls to carry the load and
score the most points for the team,” he said.
“They are split seconds away from qualify
ing for the state meet in each of the three
relay events. They missed the 200-medley
relay time by 1.33 seconds, the 200 free
relay time by .29 seconds.
“The positives on the girls side in the
Bainbridge event,” he added, “was that we
got great performances from sophomores
Kimber Bergo and Kristen Robinson. Bergo
had a second in the IM-and a third in the
100 fly. Robinson came in and got a fifth
in the 50 free and a second in the 200 free.
We also got solid performances from juniors
Nellie Daley, Caitlin Wilhelm, Jill Smith
and Molly Welchel.”
