John Edd Tallent
John Edd Tallent Sr., age
75, of Montezuma, Georgia
passed away Tuesday morning,
Dec. 11, 2007 at his residence.
Graveside funeral services were
held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007,
at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park
Cemetery in Montezuma with
Rev. Michael Truitt officiating.
The family received friends
Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007 at
Watson-Mathews Funeral Home
in Montezuma. At other times,
they will be at the home.
He was born on March 29,
1932 in Americus, Georgia to the
late Luther C. Tallent and Katie
Welch Tallent. He was retired
from the Civil Service at Robins
Air Force Base. He served in
the U.S. Navy during the Korean
Conflict and was a member of
Cedar Valley Baptist Church. He
is preceded in death by one sis
ter, Frances T. Pike.
Survivors include his wife,
JoAnn Sawyer Tallent of
Montezuma, GA; two sons
and daughters-in-law, John E.
Tallent, Jr and his wife Jenny of
Grayson, Georgia and James
A. Tallent and his wife Lisa of
Montezuma, Georgia; six grand
children, Joy T. (Caleb) Hollis, Jill
and Steven Dobek, Jamie and
Brad Winterburn, Mallory Tallent,
Shelby Tallent and Chelsea
Tallent; three great grandchil
dren, Landon Hollis, Jackson
Tallent and Grace Ann Tallent.

Maurice Leon Tresslar Jr.
age,66 of Dudley, Georgia passed
away on Tuesday, Dec. 11,
2007. The funeral was held
at Ip.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007
at the Dudley United Methodist
Church with Rev. Ed Ellington
officiating. Mr. Tresslar was born
in Indiana. He was raised in
Miami, Fla. He then moved to
Warner Robins, Georgia where
he opened and operated World
Hi Fi Electronics for 23 years. Mr.
Tresslar was a member of the
Dudley United Methodist Church.
He was a Mason and Shriner, Al
Sihah Shrine Temple in Macon.
Mr. Tresslar started and was the
Cub Scout leader in Dudley.

sons, Steve Tresslar of Warner

A. Showers, 83, AF retired
master sergeant, passed away
Sunday. His wife preceded him
in death. Survivors include his
daughter, Barbara Ann Smith,
son, Damien Jack Showers,
t seven grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. Graveside
services were held Thursday in
Parkway Memorial Gardens.
