Museum set to hold its annual Young Astronauts' Day Special to the Journal The Museum of Aviation Education Department will host the Annual Georgia Young Astronauts’ Day March 29, 2008, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. This yearly event for third eighth grade students will take place at the Museum of Aviation Flight & Technology Center located in Warner Robins. The opening ceremony will be held in the Century of Flight Hanger, and work shops will take place immedi ately following the ceremony, in various locations through out the museum. Young Astronauts’ Day, according to a release from the museum, is a fun-filled day of hands on workshops that focus on math, science, and technology. The work shops range from Robotics and Flight School, to Aviation Art. There is even an oppor tunity to examine Moon Rocks brought back from an actual NASA space mission. Students will choose two grade specific workshop tracks to participate in; with each participant being assigned one track. Each track consists of four work shops. Pre-registration is required, Wachovia ribbon cutting WR Business Center ribbon cutting and participants may regis ter as a group or individually. Early registration is strongly encouraged, as workshops fill very fast, according to the release. Reynolds has graduated from basic mili tary training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, Reynolds studied the Air Force mission, organi zation, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical train ing, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, those who complete basic training earn credits toward an asso ciate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. She is the daughter of Brian Reynolds of Godfrey Place, Perry and granddaughter of Tom and Joan Hadden of Crain Highway, Newburg, Md. She is a 2007 graduate of Perry High School. Army Pvt. Thomas Dunham IV has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of City of Centerville 2007 SPLOST PROJECT REPORT The City of Centerville, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 48-8-122, publishes this 2001 SPLOST project report for 2007. NAME OF PROJECT: Centerville City Hall Original estimated cost of project: $2,035,000.00 Current estimated cost: $2,144,044.00 Amount spent on project prior to 2007: $2,035,000.00 Amounts expected to be spent in 2007: $ 86,111.00 The City of Centerville will use the proceeds from the tax in excess of the estimated cost to fully fund the project and the project is not behind schedule. He is the son of Laurie Dunham of Promise Lane, Brunswick and nephew of Gerald Flowers of Pentross Court, Kathleen. Dunham graduated in the year 2000 from Golden Gate Christian Academy, Brunswick. Navy Seaman Wallace W. Jones, son of Nanty L. Jones of Warner Robins and David R. Jones of Roberta recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, 111. During the eight-week program, Jones completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefight ing, water safety and surviv al, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness. The capstone event of boot camp Is “Battle Stations”. This exercise gives recruits the skills and confidence they need to succeed'in the fleet. “Battle Stations” is designed to galvanize the basic warrior attributes of sacrifice, dedica tion, teamwork and endur ance.
