Woman dies in tractor trailer accident

crash at the intersection of
Ga. 11 and Ga. 49 at around
10 a.m. Friday.
At that accident, accord
ing to the release, 51-year

HHC introduces new cancer survivor fitness propani

Houston Healthcare’s
Community Education and
Services, according to a
release, is introducing a new
12-week cancer recovery
program for cancer patients
and survivors beginning this
month.
The new program, called
Survivors, combines health
education, exercise and sup
port to those individuals
newly diagnosed with can
cer.
According to Beth Jones,
RNC, Director of Houston
Healthcare’s Community
Education and Services, the
goal of Houston Healthcare’s
Cancer Survivor Program is
support and empowerment.

cancer patients through
their recovery process and
treatment as well as help
empower and strengthen

FAIR - The Houston County
School System will host its
annual Teacher Job Fair Feb. 2
at Warner Robins High School.
According to a release, teach
ers interested in employment
with the system are invited to
stop by from 9 a.m. to noon.
Representatives from 37 schools
will conduct screening inter
views, so candidates should
bring resumes. Warner Robins
was killed when a 1997
Freightliner Tractor Trailer,
driven by 68-year-old
Eduardo Parra of Longwood
Fla., pulled into the path
of her 1994 Chevrolet S-10
pickup.
The Freightliner, accord
ing to the release, had been
north bound on Ga. 49 and
was attempting to cross the
southbound lane of Ga. 11.

Robins Recreation Department

the right of way to Stokes

lane where she was unable
to avoid the collision and
struck the side of the tractor
trailer.
She was pronounced
deceased at the scene by
emergency personnel.

transported to the Houston

area hospital for treatment.
According to the release, she
is listed in stable condition
and the wound is not life
threatening at this time.
