BHI Glass Ministry reaching prison
Special to the Journal
Did you notice all the
strangers in Perry on April
10-12. Did you see all the
cars with Bill Glass Prison
Ministry nameplates? Did
you happen to see all the
church vans parked at the
Perry Holiday Inn?
It was all part of a minis
try in which 500 volunteer
Christian counselors and 20
special entertainers, led by
Bill Glass himself, went into
Middle Georgia prisons and
detention facilities to bring
a message of faith and hope
to those who are incarcer
ated.
According Frank
Mellette, a local leader in
the Bill Glass Weekend of
Champions ministry, “2621
decisions for the Lord were
made by inmates during the
weekend. Many churches in
the Middle Georgia area par
ticipated, not only through
volunteer counseling, but
also through financial gifts,
furnishing church vans and
buses and providing prayer

at risk during this time.
