PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS
- The National Association of Letter
Carriers, in conjunction with the
United States Postal Service, will be
collecting non-perishable food items
like canned meats and fish, canned
soup, juice, pasta, vegetables, cere
al and rice May 10 to help families
in need in the community. You can
help by placing a food donation at
you mailbox. It will be taken to the
Post Office and then delivered to
local food banks and/or pantries.
Please do not include items that
have expired or those in glass con
tainers.
■ PERRY HS FOOTBALL CAMP
- Perry Perry High School Head
Football Coach Andy Scott and his
varsity coaching staff and players
will again host their annual football
camp. It will be held June 4-6 in Herb
St. John Stadium from 9 a.m.-noon
daily. At the camp, you can learn
fundamentals and skills. The camp
will be broken down into two groups,
the first consisting of third, fourth
and fifth graders and the second
being made up of sixth, seventh
and eighth graders. The cost is S4O,
which includes lunch and an event

■ WR AQUANAUTS OPEN
HOUSE - The Warner Robins
Aquanauts will conduct an open
house May 10 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
at Memorial Pool, located near the
softball fields adjacent to Robins
AFB, just south of the Martin Luthei
King Blvd. Memorial Pool is the
home of the Aquanauts. Parents
and children, according to a release
from the organization, are encour
aged to attend to sign up for sum
mer 2008 swimming lessons and
to learn about the Aquanauts com
petitive swim team. There will be
demonstration to watch during the
open house to include a Tun swim
ming meet” from 10-11 a.m. and a
lifeguard training class. You can also
meet the coaches, board members
and some of the swim team during
the open house.

'Dutch” Jacaway
WARNER ROBINS - “Dutch” Jacaway, Jr., 47, entered into rest Saturday. He was born Dec. 1, 1960 in San
Antonio, Texas. Family includes his daughter, Kim Thompson; grandchildren, Brianna and Trey Thompson:
mother, Patsy Moore Jacaway; sisters, Joy Riley (Frank) and Patty Callahan (Ray); and nieces and nephews;
D.J. Mantei, Joshua Mantei, Amber Callahan, Adam Floyd and Whitney Floyd, all of Warner Robins.

Lloyd "Pete” Peterson
KATHLEEN - Lloyd “Pete”. Peterson, 77, passed away Friday. He was a 40-year resident of Houston County.
He was born Feb. 20, 1931 in Harlan, Kentucky. He was a veteran who served with pride and honor in the U. S.
Air Force, retiring in 1971 after 20 years of service. He also retired from the Robins Air Force Base Electronics
Division after 16 years of Civil Service employment.
He is survived by his devoted wife Kay Porter Peterson, Kathleen; sons, David (Kathy) Peterson, Gray, and
James (Marilyn) Peterson, Warner .McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Five arrested on drug charges

Sheriffs Office Narcotics
Unit and the Houston
County Sheriff s Office
Response Team, according to
a release, executed a drug
search warrant Thursday
night and seized a quantity
of “crack cocaine”, mari
juana, pills, and other drug
related items.
The Narcotics Unit served
the search warrant around
9:40 p.m. at 207 Meadowdale
