Some say that new development
doesn't pay its way, so here are
the Facts: The City of Perry
pays how much for a new
subdivision? How much money
does it cost the City of Perry for
new development? Does the
city pay for the streets? No, the
developer pays for the streets
and then after they pass the city
inspection they give it to the city.
No cost there, but what about the
utilities, does the city pay for the
installation of sewer and water
lines? No, the developer pays to
bring the sewer and water lines to
the development and install the
water and sewer connection on
each lot, then when the customer
applies to have their water and
sewer connected the customer
pays for the connection fee. Now
we have the streets, water, and
sewer in the subdivision, and the
city has spent how much money?
Nothing!

IMPACT FEE!
The 2007 audit was taken off the
webpage and replaced with 2006
as the latest audit, not sure what
is going on there but anyway you
can go to www.perryimpactfee. com
and see a copy of the 2007 audit.
According to this 2007 audit, the
property taxes revenues for 2006
were $3,765,951 and the revenues
for 2007 were $4,420,608 which is
an increase of $654,657 dollars.
Where did this new revenue go?
We don't know, but new growth
and development pay their way.
So why put an impact fee on an
industry that is already hurting?
We don't understand why the
city is going through this process
to only have the citizens of Perry
pay more for building their dream
home. The developer and builder
will only pass this impact on to
the customer that will have to
pay more to purchase the home,
and then pay more property taxes
each year due to the fact that the
of people is set at 2,000. Midway

The City of Perry made a decision
to annex in property that was 10

this was a business decision for
further growth. When the city
agreed to annex in the property
they also agreed to provide police
and fire protection. Why should a
land owner that is in the proposed

more? The land owners that have
land outside the Peny Parkway
will have an unfair fee placed on

every land owner pays for with

The city pays nothing for new

of the new property taxes. In the
