the Panthers with two
strikeouts in the fifth. Crisp
scored two times on the
sixth as the Perry defense
struggled with two more
infield errors. Whitney gave
up one hit and a walk with
the bases loaded.
• Earlier on Friday,
Warner Robins High has
a come-from-behind 10-9
win against Crisp County
at Northside High. The
Demons scored three times
in the fifth inning to take the
victory. It was Wellington '
Palmer’s hit up the middle
that tied the game. Cody
Couch was next, and he
looped the ball over the sec
ond baseman’s head for the
game-winner.
NORTHSIDE RESULTS
Northside High got
behind Dublin High 5-0
in two innings Friday and
couldn’t recover in a 7-4
five-inning loss to the Irish
at Dyson Field.
Dublin greeted Eagle left
hander Cyle Farmer, who
had given his club a couple
of solid summer outings,
with consecutive doubles
in a two-run first-inning.
The Irish hit two more dou
bles and added in a pair of
infield hits for three runs in
the second.
The Northside offense
closed the gap to 5-3 in the
home second, all beginning
with an infield hit from
Caleb Peacock. Catcher
Taylor Kelly followed
with a single, and Robby
Bauseman’s bunt resulted
in a Dublin error and the
first Eagle run.
Aaron Jones grounded out
for an RBI, and a Jonathan
Jones single plated the
third run. Jordan Couillard
looked to keep things going
with a hard shot to center,
but the Dublin outfielder
robbed him with a diving
catch, the first of two he
would make in the game.
Bauseman took over the
Northside pitching duties
with two runners on in the
top of the third. He got
a great catch from Jake
Deason at first base, which
helped keep the score at
5-3. But the Dublin cen
terfielder responded with
his second highlight play
against Farmer leading off
the home third.

fielding in him as he began

top of the fourth. The Irish
struck again offensively,
though, in the fifth with
two runs on three hits, a hit
batter and a passed ball.
The Eagles got one back in
the home fifth as Jonathan
Jones led off with a triple to
deep center and scored on a
Couillard hit.
Saturday evening saw
the two city rivals, Warner
Robins and Northside, do
battle at Dyson Field. This
game went the full seven
innings with the Demons
- behind left-hander Chess
Malone and three infield
double plays - prevailing
4-1.
The contest had a 2-1
score for Warner Robins
after the first inning, and
it stayed that way until
the fifth when the Demons
added two more.
In Warner Robins’ first
turn at-bat, all runners
reached base with two outs.
Justin Burke doubled and
scored as Casey Graham
hit a ball high and deep to
the right-field corner. For
Graham, it was triple, and
he scored on a wild pitch.
Clint Farmer drove in the
Eagle run in the home half
as he reached on an error
with a teammate on third
base. But the Demons,
using Matthew Kile at sec
ond base and Ryne Pierce at
shortstop, turned the first
of the three twin killings to
end it.
The second double play
put an end to the bottom of
the second.
Warner Robins’ fifth
inning scoring began as
Kile sliced the ball deep
to left. He ran through a
stop signal at second base
and made it a triple. Chad
Catron, starting at catcher,
sent another baseball with
slice to left, but this time
Cyle Farmer ran it down.
Still, it was a sacrifice fly
and 3-1 lead.
Schafer Suggs got into the
slicing act with his hit to left
field. This one came after a
two-out walk and brought
in the fourth Demon run.
In addition to the double
plays, Pierce had to charge a
slow chopper but made the
first out of the Northside
fifth. With two runners on
in the bottom of the sev
enth, Pierce and Kile com
bined on their third double
play with Cole Outz making
the catches at first base.
Malone, with all the
defensive help, had four
strikeouts, three walks and
four hits allowed. Peacock
countered with a complete
game start for the Eagles.
He had a similar line with
four hits allowed, three
walks and four whiffs.
