Why should residents vote
for you?
Residents should vote for
me because I am the most
qualified candidate to provide a
progressive vision for Houston
County. I have a proven record
in the efficient operation of our
government. I work well with
other people, boards, and gov
ernments. I equally represent
all citizens of Houston County,
and I make deliberate and bal
anced decisions for and on
behalf of everyone.

Why should residents vote
for you?
For a new vision in leader
ship. My experience as a
businessman for the past 26
years and my common sense
approach. I have been a hard
worker all of my life and now I
want to "step up" to the plate
for the residents of this county.
Name one-three issues you
believe should take priority
in this county:
1. Jobs -We need to expand
the industrial base of the
county.
2. Fire department. We need
to enhance fire services in the
county.
3. To see county and city
gov't work closely together for
planned growth.
Where do you stand on an
all county siren system?
I am in favor of an all county
siren system.
Where do you stand on
a joint venture between
the City of WR, City of

Where do you stand on an
all-county siren system?
The county in conjunction
with the cities should have a
severe weather warning sys
tem. Sirens are a good option
as long as the coverage is
broad reaching.
Where do you stand on a
joint venture between the
City of Warner Robins, City of
Centerville and the county on
an animal shelter?
I believe the animal shel
ter should be a joint venture
between Warner Robins,
Centerville and the County. This
combined effort would provide
the most efficient operation of
the animal shelter daily func-
I am all for cities and county
government to join forces with
the animal shelter. I would like
to see Perry involved and not
to be isolated.
Where do you stand on
Vision 2020?
Cooperation of local govern
ment is a must for the future
of Houston County. I pledge
my cooperation with all local
government and state officials
in Houston County.
Where do you stand on
impact fees?
I plan to thoroughly evalu
ate impact fees to see if it
would be an enhancement or
a detriment to the future of
the county. With the economy
today we would need to look
very closely at this. I under
stand that we need money
for different projects for the
county.
Where do you stand on
construction/development
at the south end of the
county?
I am for growth, as long as
it is planned for in an orderly
manner.
Where do you stand on
taxes?
Taxes are our primary rev
enue. However, there should
be an evaluation on where the
money is being spent. I will do
everything in my power to see

tions. There will be a net ben
efit to all parties.
Where do you stand on
Vision 20/20?
Vision 20/20 is a good con
cept. Without Vision 20/20
there would be no formal
avenue to address issues facing
all governing bodies. I think
it is beneficial to all parties
to have a voluntary body put
forth ideas or suggestions, all of
which are non-binding.
Where do you stand on
impact fees?
At this time, I do not support
the implementation of impact
fees. With the slowdown of the
real estate market, it would be
an inappropriate time toadd
any further impediment to
recovery of the real estate mar-
tax money used wisely. I feel
that government should live
within their means. I will not
support taxing citizens at an
unnecessary level.

Where do you stand on
construction/development at
the south end of the county?
In
general, the south end of
the county will more slowly
develop residentially. Because
of changes made to the county
development regulations in
the last few years, residential
development requires much
larger lot size than in the
past. Since the south end of
the county has traditionally
been agricultural, larger lot
type subdivision residential
development is preferable. The
comprehensive land use plan
for the county shows both rural
residential and agricultural with
industrial corridors in this area.

lots are proposed, the land

These types of independent
sewer system developments
are unusual in this area.
Where do you stand on
taxes?
As a county commissioner, I
believe moderation is key to a
successful budget, and I strive
to continually keep taxes low.
Taxes are a necessary evil. Taxes
in Houston County remain the
lowest in the mid state area.
Each and every year, we, on
the county commission, spend
considerable time and effort in
assessing the county's needs
relative to the available budget.
Taxes allow the government to
provide services to its citizens.
