Flint Energies communicator earns Graznak award

Douglas has received the 2008
Michael Graznak Award,
according to a release, honor
ing individuals under age 36
who have demonstrated both
achievement and promise in
the cooperative communica
tions field. The award, first
presented in 1977, memo
rializes a Missouri coopera
tive communicator who died
while on assignment.
The annual award is made
to one communicator who
works for a U.S. cooperative
business by the Cooperative
Communicators Association.

she managed advertis
ing and public relations for
21 electric cooperatives in
South Carolina and Georgia.
Her resume also includes
a stint at Santee Electric
Cooperative as community
relations manager. While
there, she successfully man
aged the cooperative’s crisis
communications efforts dur
ing Hurricane Floyd in 1999.
She also previously held posi
tions at advertising agencies,
was a legislative aide and
served as executive director
of a chamber of commerce.

Institute for Organization
Management at the
University of Georgia.
Aura Lee Durham, Senior
Vice President has com
pleted her fourth year and
has graduated from the pro
gram, achieving her IOM
designation. Wanda Suckow,
the Chamber’s Business
Manager, has successfully
completed the first year at
the Institute.
Graduates of Institute
receive the IOM recognition,
signifying completion of 96
hours of course instruction
in association, chamber and
nonprofit management.
