By KRYSTAL RINER
Journal Staff Writer
A whirlwind of emotions
came over Retired Brig.
Gen. Jim Sehorn as he spoke
to members of the Warner
Robins Exchange Club
Tuesday at lunch.
Sehorn shared his story
of commitment to America.
Throughout his speech, he
relived moments of his 63
months spent as a prisoner
of war in Vietnam.
Sehorn began his Air Force
career in 1963 by attending
pilot training.
After an assignment with
the 20th Tactical Fighter
Wing in England, he volun
teered for duty in Southeast
Asia. On December 14, 1967,
he was shot down over North
Vietnam. He was a prisoner
of war for 63 months before
being released on March 14,
1973.
Upon his return to the
U.S., he continued his active
duty at Travis Air Force
Base, Calif.
He joined the Air Force
Reserves in September of
1976, rising through the
ranks and retired as director
of operations in September
1992.
Sehorn’s distinguished
career garnered many awards
and decorations including

A search was made for the
unknown individual who
took the gun but he was not
found.
Also, while taking Davis
into custody, a large crowd
gathered in the area where
the arrest was taking place,
and refused to disperse.
Officers requested assis
tance from the Houston
County Sheriff’s Office
after several other fights
broke out within the crowd
that had gathered.
The Sheriffs Office
responded and other people
were taken into custody.
They were identified
as Amina Farms, 23. She
was taken into custody for
Disorderly Conduct-Failure
to Disperse, after repeated
requests to leave the area.
Two other subjects
were taken into custody
for Disorderly Conduct-
Fighting. They were iden
tified as Yaneika Hart, 21,
and Takora Prater, 22.
Larichus Carter was also
taken into custody for out
standing felony warrants
out of Mississippi.
Warner Robins Police
Department Director of
Operations Maj. John
Wagner said Friday that
authorities don’t know yet
what caused the eruption in
the neighborhood, as resi
dents in the area refused to
talk to the police.
There were no injuries
reported in the incident.
Anyone with information is
asked to contact the Warner
Robins Police Department
at 478-929-1170.

his heart for many years.
Sehorn spoke to the veter
