CONCERT - The Ocmulgee
Symphony Orchestra presents

BIZZARE - First Christian
Church Disciples of Christ,
located at 100 North Houston
Road in Warner Robins, will
hold its annual holiday bizarre
Nov. 22. It will run from 9 a.m.-2
p.m. and be held in the church's
fellowship hall. Arts and crafts,
afghans, Christmas decorations,
jewelry and lots of baked goods
are just some of the offerings.

ter of the Marine Toys for Tots
Foundation. The theatre will
have a 12-foot Christmas tree
decorated in white lights, unique

bears. During this season of

and girls to be placed under the
Christmas tree when they come
to the movies. The tree orna
ments, polar bears and gifts of

will be given out by volunteers
from the local chapter of Marine

- The Vietnam Veterans of
America Warner Robins Chapter
No. 902 announces its scholar
ship award program for 2009.
Scholarships will be awarded
in memory of Logan Walton, a
late member of the chapter. The
chapter will award scholarships
to high school seniors in Houston
County. Students must either
participate in the AFJROTC
program at one of the county
schools or be the child or grand
child of a veteran. Applicants
must be in financial need to
meet educational expenses,
maintain above average grades
and demonstrate a spirit of

OBITUARIES
Thomas E. "Tommy" Hill
ELKO - Thomas E. “Tommy” Hill, age 66, passed away
on Tuesday, November 18, 2008. Funeral services were
held at Elko United Methodist Church in Elko with Reverend
Tom Teate officiating. Interment followed at Haynesville First
Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hill was born in North Georgia
to the late Mikell and Lucille Carter
Hill. Having lived most of his life in
Elko, he was a truck driver for Utility
Service in Perry. A member of Elko United Methodist Church,
he enjoyed participating in the Annual Church Bazaar. He was
also a member of a local CB Radio Club
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Elizabeth Hill;
daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Scott Schexnayder of
Elko; brother, Billy Hill of Perry; sister, Maggie Richardson
(Jimmy) of Rockmart, Georgia; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great
grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie
Hill, and his sister, Lorene Hill.

military training at Lackland
Air Force Base, San Antonio,
Texas.
During the six weeks of
training, Cain studied the
Air Force mission, organiza
tion, core values, and mili
tary customs and courtesies;
performed drill and ceremony
marches, and received physi
cal training, rifle marksman
ship, field training exercis
es, and special training in
human relations.
