Special to the Journal Allison Townsend, a fifth grader at Matt Arthur Elementary in Warner Robins is the winning artist in the fourth annual Flint Energies Christmas card design con test. Townsend’s artwork is featured on the official 2008 Flint Energies’ Christmas card which will be mailed to friends of Flint, includ ing legislators and electric cooperative CEOs from all around the country. The cooperative, according to a release, received entries from elementary school stu dents (K through fifth grade) from Warner Robins to Columbus. A winner was chosen from each school in Flint’s service territory that participated in the contest. Each school win ner received an award cer tificate and a gift bag filled with art supplies to continue the young artist’s creative endeavors. The field of win ning entries was narrowed down to three finalists with one overall winner.
